SAGNOF Bullpen Report Week 9: Women Love Cool Rich

Week 9 is in the books. Time for the SAGNOF Bullpen report!
Don’t forget to keep that Razzball Bullpen Chart bookmarked. Completely remodeled in this amazing masterpiece, updated with power! The calendar view of usage patterns is pure gold.
Subscribers: Check out Autopen for today’s/tomorrow’s forecast (vulture SVHD, anyone?), which also has a similar look at usage patterns for the last 7 days. Another great tool is the helper game logs from the last 14 days! Sort/sort/export according to your needs.
Note: All Player Rater statistics and values are accurate for Sunday’s games.
A quick note on the note above…I usually post this Monday before the games are finished, but today’s was written in the morning.
Richard Lovelady2 SV, 1 HLD, 2:1 K:BB. Welp, the Gus Bus is officially parked in the back. He hasn’t had any money in years, while this guy Dick Lovelady has two in a week and three since May 15. So, he’s obviously a man now for whatever reason. The reason may be a 2.35 ERA, which is not supported by a 4.49 FIP, then a 1.57 WHIP and a small 5.8 K-BB% and suggests that rockier roads may lie ahead. Lovelady is not really fit to be a news manager, but I have changed my philosophy to what I want these journalists to be. Either someone in charge deserves a long fade, or someone making waves for good or bad reasons. Right now, Lovelady fits the bill of “come on when you’re desperate!”, a boat that many people don’t know they’re rowing for their lives these days. It’s hot out there. Mr. Lovelady has very average stuff but thrives on producing weak contact, especially grounders. You will give up zero long balls if you can do that every time. I mean, he doesn’t everything time, but doing so at an above average clip. Plug him in and hope for the best! I’m still there for 91% of Fantrax leagues, sadly my RCL is not one of them. Maybe because all these cute cats read Razzball every day and know they’re fighting a bull.
Kade Smith4 SV, 6:0 K:BB. Sweet baby Jesus Christ this boy has been shedding tears. It was Mason Miller, newly named Cade Smith! In the last 30 days, he is #14 overall.
Jeff Hoffman2 SV, 1 HLD, 6:0 K:BB. Well, if it’s not Mr. Michael Jeffrey Jordan Hoffman. Is that 6:0 K:BB I see, and 3 SVHD? And two of them are kept ?? I don’t know if Hoffman is back at 9 yet, because those saves came days after Varland set the tone. Both of those guys were very busy. Watch closely, and if you have room to add Hoffman for SV-only, you might as well.
Bryan King2 SV, 1 HLD, 2:0 K:BB
Taylor Rogers2 SV, 1 HLD, 2:0 K:BB
Hunter Gaddis1 SV, 2 HLD, 4:1 K:BB. Sabrowski hit the IL this week with a scary inflammation in his throwing elbow. Gaddis figures to take a big step forward in the number of catches.
Jose A. Ferrer1 SV, 2 HLD, 5:0 K:BB. He’s off to a slow start in his Mariners career but is starting to settle into the others. WHIP is still higher than I would like.
Bryan Abreu1 SV, 2 HLD, 2:2 K:BB. I want to believe in him again, but I don’t. I wouldn’t mind if you put him in in the hope that he will return to form. Even with 4 SVHD, his line the last two weeks still looks bad to me: 4.1 IP, 2 H, 4 BB, 1 K. Yeah, no runs then, but still. Things are not as focused as they used to be. He is not the same.
Andrew Morris1 SV, 2 HLD, 1:4 K:BB. Twins fans I’ve met in my online circles have high hopes for this baby. It might turn into something, but right now I’m seeing K:BB regressing and a bad H/9 and it’s fading.
Jason Adam3 HLD, 3:1 K:BB
Another De Los Santos3 HLD, 2:0 K:BB
Tim Herrin3 HLD, 3:2 K:BB. Herrin was on my radar once. With no more Sabrowski, he could be the remaining expert. Has 4 HLD in the last two weeks, but also a lot of baserunners. Only useful for deep formats if you ask me.
Paul Sewald1 W, 2 SV, 3:0 K:BB. The implosion has not happened! He is still cooking.
Louis Varland2 SV, 6:0 K:BB. It’s been one of the best all year and shows no signs of slowing down. Oh how wrong I was before the season.
Aroldis Chapman2 SV, 2:0 K:BB.
Bryan Baker2 SWT, 2:1 K:BB. Do you think you’ll see a Tampa breaker with 14 SV (and HLD) before May is over? This Rays team is much better than expected.
Mason Miller1 L, 2 SV, 3:3 K:BB. What is this, a walking strikeout rate?! Bad!
John Duran1 L, 2 SV, 4:0 K:BB. Not the best H/9 in the last two weeks but oh well. It is still very dominant.
Ian Seymour1 W, 1 SV, 1 HLD, 3:0 K:BB. Trifecta alert! Seymour is big in the league with SP slots and counting.
Anthony Banda1 SV, 1 HLD, 1:0 K:BB
Mark Leiter Jr.1 SV, 1 HLD, 2:1 K:BB
Caleb Kilian1 L, 1 SV, 1 HLD, 4:0 K:BB. He’s a guy who could see savings right now so you should sign him up if you need that. The metrics are pretty good except for BB%, but his FIP is almost two full points higher than his ERA.
Hogan Harris1 SV, 1 HLD, 3:4 K:BB
Eric Orze1 W, 2 HLD, 4:1 K:BB
Sam Bachman1 W, 2 HLD, 5:1 K:BB. Guy is up to 9 HLD’s now in the year and has been doing very well. It is worth looking at in depth formats.
Tyler Wells2 HLD, 1:0 K:BB
Eduard Bazardo1 W, 2 HLD, 5:2 K:BB
Brent Headrick2 HLD, 3:0 K:BB
Tyler Rogers2 HLD, 1:1 K:BB
Fernando Cruz2 HLD, 5:2 K:BB. The move keeps him from being one of the best assets in the league. Has 10 HLD and 30 K now, but also 14 BB in 21.2 IP.
Taylor Clarke2 HLD, 1:1 K:BB. I’m not sure why the text is flipped, but it’s DBack that I own now. Morillo never had one weeks.
Graham Ashcraft1 L, 2 HLD, 5:0 K:BB
Brennan Bernardino1 L, 2 HLD, 3:1 K:BB
Brandyn Garcia2 HLD, 1:1 K:BB
Erik Miller2 HLD, 3:4 K:BB. He has been rusty since coming back from injury. I still like to go up here if he can gain control – he probably has a walk per inning.
Tyler Saucedo2 HLD, 1:0 K:BB
Steven Okert2 HLD, 4:0 K:BB
John Ramirez1 L, 2 HLD, 2:2 K:BB
Brooks Raley2 HLD, 2:3 K:BB
Mason Fluharty2 HLD, 3:2 K:BB
Brock Burke2 HLD, 2:0 K:BB
Ryan Zeferjahn1 L, 2 HLD, 1:4 K:BB
Juan Morillo2 BSV, 2:2 K:BB, 18.00 ERA, 5.00 WHIP. It is clear that it is no longer a favorite. Place everywhere.
Anthony Nunez2 BSV, 1 L, 1 SV, 3:1 K:BB, 13.24 ERA, 1.76 SWIP
Tim Hill1 BSV, 1 L, 1 HLD, 4:3 K:BB, 10.00 ERA, 2.59 WHIP. He never expected that he would last his first season.
Riley O’Brien1 BSV, 1 L, 2:2 K:BB, 7.83 ERA, 1.74 SWIP. ROB’s stinking throwback. Not in the hot seat by any means…yet.
Matt Gage1 BSV, 1 L, 4:0 K:BB, 7.83 ERA, 1.30 WHIP
Lucas Erceg1 BSV, 1 L, 1:0 K:BB, 22.50 ERA, 4.00 WHIP. I’ve been saying I don’t like Erceg for weeks now. The quality is not there. Sell high if you can.
Kenley Jansen1 BSV, 1 L, 1 HLD, 1:3 K:BB, 13.50 ERA, 2.00 WHIP. It really hurts there.
Justin Slaten1 BSV, 1 L, 1 HLD, 3:1 K:BB, 21.18 ERA, 2.94 ERA. He was completely and utterly in control until the day I decided to add him to his beating.
Juan Mejia1 BSV, 1 L, 1 HLD, 2:4 K:BB, 11.25 ERA, 2.50 OFF. Mejia has been good lately but overall his season numbers are not encouraging. Dude, he’s just an NL kind of guy.
Garrett Whitlock1 BSV, 1 L, 2:0 K:BB, 6.92 ERA, 1.54 WHIP.
That’s it for this week! Thanks for reading. Leave me a comment below to make me feel warm and fuzzy.
