Inter missed the chance to all but seal the Scudetto by drawing against Torino
Inter Milan conceded two goals as they drew 2-2 with Torino, the Nerazzurri lost their chance to all but seal the Serie A title.
A fine display from the away side gave Inter the chance to re-establish a 12-point lead at the top with four games remaining, and they looked set to take it after Marcus Thuram headed home Federico Dimarco’s ball and Yann Aurel Bisseck rose from the corner to double their lead.
But Giovanni Simeone’s superb finish gave Torino hope and, after Carlos Augusto was ruled out for holding after a VAR review, Nikola Vlasic equalized 11 minutes from the end of normal time with a powerful penalty.
Inter can win the Scudetto when they host Parma next Sunday.
Elsewhere, Como kept their Champions League dreams alive with a 2-0 win at Genoa. Cesc Fabregas’ side trail fourth-placed Juventus by just three points after the Bianconeri drew 0-0 with AC Milan at the San Siro. In another game of the day, Fiorentina and Sassuolo tied 0-0.
Dortmund booked a place in the Champions League
Borussia Dortmund booked their place in next season’s Champions League with a 4-0 win over Freiburg.
Maximilian Beier, Serhou Guirassy and Ramy Bensebaini gave second-placed Dortmund complete command with first-half goals, while Fabio Silva added a touch of brilliance to the scoreline late on.
They are 10 points behind fifth-placed Hoffenheim with three games remaining in the Bundesliga season. Stuttgart are just ahead of Hoffenheim on goal difference after being held to a 1-1 draw by Werder Bremen.
The yellow submarine is set for the top four
Villarreal are likely to play Champions League football next season following their 2-1 win over Celta Vigo.
Gerard Moreno’s penalty and Nicolas Pepe’s 29th-minute effort proved enough for third-placed Villarreal, who are 15 points clear of fifth-placed Real Betis with five games remaining.
Elsewhere in LaLiga, Sevilla’s survival hopes took another hit as Alejandro Catena’s 99th-minute header doomed them to a 2-1 defeat at Osasuna.
Sevilla are just shy of safety, but Elche are now four points clear of a win following a 2-1 win at bottom club Oviedo.
There was late drama in Vallecas, where Alevao scored a 99th-minute equalizer to earn Rayo Vallecano a 3-3 draw with Copa del Rey winners Real Sociedad.
Lille is level with Lyon
Lille are level on points with third-placed Lyon in the Champions League in Ligue 1 after a 1-0 win over Paris FC.
It was a tale of two penalties as Matias Fernandez-Pardo converted for Les Dogues, before Ilan Kebbal missed from 12 yards for the hosts. Paris then sent off Pierre Lees-Melou for a second bookable offence.
Fourth place would be good enough to qualify for the third qualifying round of the Champions League, where a top-three finish would secure a place in the league stage.
But Lille are still looking over their shoulders at Rennes, who are a point behind in fifth place after Valentin Rongier scored in the 92nd minute to earn them a 2-1 win over Nantes in the Breton derby.
Marseille are four points behind Lille after being held to a 1-1 draw by local rivals Nice, who are five points clear of the relegation zone thanks to Elye Wahi’s penalty.
Andrew Omobamidele was the hero in the 99th minute for Strasbourg as they scored two goals in stoppage time to win 3-2 at Lorient.
Bottom club Metz had time to kill as Gauthier Hein scored an 85th-minute equalizer in a thrilling 4-4 draw at Le Havre. Metz came from behind four times to claim a share of the spoils and avoid having their relegation confirmed this weekend but, nine points adrift of third-placed Auxerre with three games remaining, they are on the brink of relegation.
