Xavi Simons is angry at the fans after getting injured vs Wolves

The 23-year-old’s afternoon turned sour in the 63rd minute when he was forced off with a serious knee injury.

As Simons was carried off the pitch, footage captured a heated, X-ray exchange between the player and part of the home support.

The taunts from Wolves fans were met with a defiant and blunt response from Simons, who appeared distraught over the injury.

The move, which is usually a precursor to a player’s departure or a sign of deep internal frustration, has left fans searching for answers.

When Simons posted a message about the win Sunday morning, his absence from Spurs news led to much speculation.

Whether the removal is due to his injuries, or abuse suffered at Molineux or a deeper issue regarding his future at the club remains unclear.

Injuries are a blow to Spurs in the fight for survival

The timing couldn’t be worse for Roberto De Zerbi’s side. Spurs currently sit 18th in the Premier League, struggling to avoid their first defeat since 1977.

Simons has been a rare bright spark in a difficult campaign, and his absence from the last four games, against Aston Villa, Leeds, Chelsea, and Everton, would be disastrous.

With the club awaiting official results on Monday or Tuesday, fans are left hoping that his social media activity is a temporary blackout rather than a permanent goodbye.

Update:

It appears that the removal of the posts on Instagram is linked to the injury he suffered against Wolves.

Simons has now written an emotional letter confirming that his injury will be long-term and will see him miss the entire season and the World Cup.

“They say life can be cruel and today it feels that way. My season has come to an abrupt end and I’m just trying to process it. Honestly, I’m heartbroken. Nothing makes sense. All I wanted to do was fight for my team and now the ability to do that has been taken away from me… and the World Cup. To represent my country this summer. To represent my country in peace. I will continue to be the best teammate I can be and I have no doubt that together we will win this battle.

“I will walk this way now, guided by faith, strength, endurance, faith, as I count the days to return there. Bear with me. TTP. COYS.”
