Defending champion Jannik Sinner continued his Wimbledon title defense on Friday, defeating American Jenson Brooksby. 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 in No. 1 The court reached the fourth round for the fifth year in a row.
World No. 1who became the first Italian player to win the Wimbledon title last year, dominated most of the two-hour period, 14– minute game.
Brooksby is a crafty player and a formidable competitor. He has a unique style and a great grass game—he’s like Adrian Mannarino on the right.
Brooksby started well, holding to love with an ace. He was able to play alongside Soni, too 2-everyone hit an amazing backhand shot. Using two hands, he caressed the ball, took all his speed and swung it over the net to catch it. 3-2. Soni then caught up 15 with a wide ace 3– everything. He was able to get a break in the next match with a big inside win.

In the second phase, it was the same situation. They continued to worship until 3-all when Sinner managed to break free from love on first base 4-3.
In the third set, Brooksby earned his first break of the opening match with a beautiful backhand return down-the-line. Soni, however, quickly broke down and started again 3– everything. Brooksby broke again as Sinner worked for the match, but Sinner responded by breaking again to close it out, 6-4.
The biggest difference in the match was the serving, with how many free points Sinner was able to get. The Italian struck 13 aces and won 87 percentage of his first score. The American hit three aces and won 64 percentage of his first score.
There were many long rallies, and Sinner mixed his basic strength with timely forays at the net, and won. 17 of 20 total score (85 percentage). He also converted six of his own 13 chances of a break, won 45 percentage of return points, and he was done with it 29 the winners.
Brooksby, ranked No. 81competed well from the start and minimized his unforced errors 21but he struggled to put consistent pressure on Sinner’s performance, converting two of his five rest chances.
Soni finished with 97 full score to Brooksby’s 74it closes the game with specific sets for you to progress through 2-0 against America. Their first semi-final meeting in Washington on 2021it is also won by Soni.
This four-time Grand Slam champion advances to the round of 16 as he continues his bid to successfully defend his Wimbledon title.
In his post-match press conference, Sinner said: “Yes, the best game from my side. Yes, I’m happy to get through this.
“But it’s a tricky enemy today, so I’m very happy.”
Soni was asked about his celebration at the end of the game, putting his finger to his ear to get the crowd going.
“Yes, it was important,” said Sinner, “You know, I was working on it, I couldn’t close. Then I had a few matching points, I couldn’t use them. He tried to cross the line. The crowd helped me.
“It was important to finish. Yes, I did, so it was important.”
