Snelling Promotion or Rushing to Logan

I was able to add the newly promoted Giants 1B Bryce Eldridge in Perts open league where I need a first striker. I might have to hold him for a while despite the league having three bench spots and the highest churn rate because he’s not a 1B fit for Fantrax, and the Giants played him with a hitter all night. In his ten MLB games last year, he played six at DH and four at first. I think Fantrax needs to review their eligibility requirements because DH is not a position. If a guy plays four games at 1B and zero games anywhere else on the field. He should qualify for 1B. Still, I suspect the Giants would like to see Eldridge at first because he’s a great target there at 6’7″ and he’s a good athlete who isn’t a bully with the glove. Rafael Devers actually played well at cold corner last year, but at six-foot-6 and even at 29 years old, it’s not expected that he’ll continue to give him a long run. It was a stretch at all, so maybe the front office would prefer not to think too much.

Blue Jays BY Yohendrick PinangoHis career got off to a good start in Toronto. Through eight games, he is hitting .455 and working his way up the lineup. In the team’s last three games, Pinango led off twice and hit second with George Springer leading the way. This suggests that Pinango has opened a window that has appeared to him because Springer is injured, at least for now. He’s unlikely to offer a ton of power or speed, but this is the type of player Toronto has built a contender for. They have more time for his heavy profile than other teams seem to.

Just so you know, by way of fair warning, I might be a little nervous for the next few months. The school year is coming to an end soon, which leaves me plenty of time to indulge my various suspicions about the state of the game and its players. The Marlins remember C Joe Mack and reduction C Agustin Ramirez it might make me stronger. Liam Hicks looked like the club’s best option behind the plate late last year and has doubled down with a hot start to 2026. Credit to Miami for shuffling the organizational chart.

While they were busy, they also made another overdue move in signing RHP Chris Paddack, arguably the worst signing of the offseason. They hold more releases at the moment, but in theory, this gives us a chance to see Marlins LHP Robby Snelling next time the team needs a start. He has a 1.86 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 29 Triple-A innings, but the team has options in Braxton Garrett, Thomas White, and Ryan Gusto, all of whom are on the 40-man roster (Snelling is not).

Another club that has been reluctant to reveal its best players, the Brewers remember RHP Logan Henderson replacing Brandon Woodruff who was armed. Henderson has been tearing through Triple-A lineups and did the same against Washington, recording eight strikeouts in six innings while allowing just three baserunners. Congratulations to the people who have been patiently waiting for this outside. Could Henderson return to the minors next month? Of course. Anything can happen in Milwaukee, but there’s also a chance he’s just the second or third legend to work for a decade.

Tarik Skubal’s elbow issue sidelined the field Tigers RHP Ty Maddenwho looked very good in his start against the Red Sox and may have gotten himself a few more turns in the process. In pitching five innings, he produced seven strikeouts, allowed four hits and issued zero walks. He hasn’t been as impressive in Triple-A this year (4.71 ERA with 21 Ks in 21 IP), but he can game plan with his five-pitch combination and could actually do a little better in a big league system.

Last tip of the week: scan your cables to find out Guardians of Robert Arias (19, A). He’s slashing .326/.426/.500 with four home runs, 12 stolen bases and a walk-to-strikeout rate approaching 1-to-1. You’re on the verge of a massive uptick in ratings across the echo chamber when they start re-editing that stuff for public consumption.

Medals flew SS Luis Hernandez right over the Dominican Summer League and brought him stateside to play a role as a 17-year-old: a great thing that puts him in a position to compete as one of the youngest players at every stop on his minor league tour. So far: he has hit two home runs in his first three games.
