Man Utd are ready to make a huge £52m bid for Salah’s next Premier League signing
When Mohamed Salah moves to Old Trafford for what may be the last time next month, Manchester United will be hoping that the outgoing Liverpool legend is not up to his usual tactics, as he has often been a thorn in the side of the Red Devils in recent years.
United’s recruits may be happy to see the Egyptian back, in fact, given his excellent record in the game so far.

Indeed, in 18 games against the Red Devils in the league and cup, the 33-year-old has scored 16 points, all of which have come since the start of 2020 alone.
It may pain United fans to admit it, but the former Chelsea and Roma man is the cream of the crop when it comes to today’s Premier League strikers, having broken numerous records since returning from Italy in 2017.
Now, the battle continues to land the next top-flight Salah, who will join this summer.
Man Utd are ready to make a £52m bid for Arsenal this summer
The priority at Old Trafford, and the appointment of a new permanent manager, is the midfield unit, although there is still room for improvement in an attacking sense.
Amad, who has only two goals and two assists this season, has not been involved in 2026. Bryan Mbeumo has not scored a goal since they beat Tottenham Hotspur. And Matheus Cunha has scored just two goals in his last nine.
The latter pair, signed for £65m and £62.5m, respectively, have enjoyed early seasons in Manchester, but ahead of the Champions League games possible next term, continued fire is a must.
Countdown: Premier League’s best young players (2025/26)
Who is the greatest wide man in English football?
With that in mind, SportsBoom have reported that United are battling Arsenal to sign Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi, with the Bundesliga side willing to cash in on the German ahead of next season.
Dortmund are said to be ‘open to negotiations’ for a fee of around €60m (£52m), with INEOS poised to launch a financial offer for the German giants ‘early summer’.
Meanwhile, title hopefuls Arsenal have also entered the fray, with Mikel Arteta and Co viewing the 24-year-old as a ‘joke’, an explosive, game-changing striker who can operate everywhere up front.
Why Adeyemi could be the next Premier League Salah
Eyebrows were raised when Liverpool paid £34m to sign Salah from Roma in the summer of 2017, with even Jurgen Klopp believed to have had doubts about the player who had struggled to make the grade at Stamford Bridge.
The bright minds on Merseyside saw something and stuck to their guns, however, relying on a player who scored 55 goals and assisted in just 83 games at the Stadio Olimpico.
The rest, as they say, is history, with Salah proving a devastating presence on the right side from the word go, a combination of fearsome pace and fearsome dribbling ability at his best.
Adeyemi, just a year younger than the Egyptian when he moved to Anfield, may not be at that level yet, but, as was the case with Salah, there is more than enough reason to take a chance on him.
Formerly appointed as Liverpool’s aging centre-back, the former Red Bull Salzburg star is a formidable weapon, always saving his prime for the big occasion.
Just watch a glimpse of the Champions League highlights of recent seasons, and an outsider would think he is one of the best players in the world, boasting a combination of almost unstoppable pace and ferocious finishing ability.
The problem, like the young Salah, is that the left foot has not shown enough in a consistent period, but if it is appropriate and to shoot, it is difficult to argue with his undoubted talent.
In a Dortmund shirt so far, the £52m striker has scored 60 goals and assisted them in 144 appearances, 15 of which came in 34 appearances in 2025/26.
As noted above, the Champions League stage has been particularly kind to Adeyemi, who has scored 16 times in just 48 appearances in the competition, as well as registering seven more assists.
Last season, for example, he scored five of ten goals in Europe’s top competition, including a hat-trick against Scottish champions Celtic in the league stage.
Although he is comfortable on the left or in the middle, he is more like a right-winger where he is strong, which makes him attractive to a United team that has seen Amad emerge from the bowels in recent months.
With Bukayo Saka struggling to find form and fitness, and Noni Madueke scoring just two league goals in his first campaign at the Emirates, it’s easy to see why the Gunners are in the mix, ensuring INEOS could have a real fight on their hands if they want to get the deal over the line.
It’s a time when Premier League proven quality is king, however as Liverpool showed with Salah, sometimes you just need to take a risk.
Man Utd are hoping to close a deal to sign their new £50m midfielder ASAP
The Red Devils could repeat their transfer success.
