It may be time for the Detroit Red Wings to move some pieces of established NHLers

Smith-Pelly: “Yeah, it’s such an interesting season for them, because, you know, I think at the beginning they were lights out. The scoring was good, and both things just turned around at the same time, right? They weren’t getting any stops and they weren’t able to score.
So, it has to be, you know, a complete kind of look for the whole organization. Why, why does this keep happening in March and April? Why do we keep giving ourselves the best chance. Now, obviously, not all players are the same every year, but why? Why don’t we do it every March and April?

So, man, I think there’s going to be some tough conversations about, you know, multiplayer. Now, I don’t mean (Moritz) Seider or (Dylan) Larkin or anybody like that. But, you know, anybody else in there has to be another, some kind of conversation. Not (Simon) Edvinsson. But there has to be some kind of conversation, you know. And they just have to, they just have to be better. “
Bill Spaulding: “Well, it makes you wonder. Steve Yzerman made a move at the deadline, brought in Justin Faulk. That was at least a middling splash, but maybe not the move they could have made. The star power is there. And you look at the young forwards, Dylan Larkin focusing on a guy like Lucas Rayncat. You’ve got Alexander Edvin Edrin Decord’s goals. and good new defenders.
But is depth that? Is that where you think the big problem ends up being, from the ground up, in the last few years, getting deep points?”
Smith-Pelly: “Yeah, I think, you know, a few months ago, there was a time when Todd McClellan was calling their depth just by jersey most nights. So any time a coach says about your bottom six players or your, your linebackers, that’s obviously a red flag.
But, you know, some of these young players that they’ve put together, you know, they’ve got young players, their AHL team is really good, maybe it’s time to turn them into real players, right?
NHL Rumors: Washington Capitals, Florida Panthers, and Winnipeg Jets
Like these young players, they won’t come and play all at once. Maybe it’s time to put something in the pocket and find real proven guys and do something now. “
