Fulham hold talks to sign £70k-a-week star Wolves ready to sell, Silva keen
Fulham are interested in signing the “amazing” Wolverhampton Wanderers star this summer, and Fosun are now ready to approve the transfer.
The Cottagers are interested in Marco Silva, but there are still doubts as to whether the 48-year-old will stay at Craven Cottage at the end of the season, with his contract set to expire.
Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison has suggested that Silva could be tempted to stay if the Cottagers qualify for Europe, saying: “Silva’s stock will be high and I think he wants a change because he hasn’t signed a new contract. But I don’t understand why it’s taking so long. He’s done a great job and they have great players. Everyone knows their role and they’re a very good team.
“If Silva gets them into Europe it would be a different conversation at the end of the season, but either way, he did a great job.”
However, Silva’s form has hit a critical stage of the campaign, losing their last two Premier League games, meaning their chances of reaching Europe look very remote.
Fulham are looking to raid Wolves for Hwang Hee-chan
It remains to be seen whether the Fulham boss can be convinced to stay after the end of the season, but Wolves star Hwang Hee-chan has now been identified as a summer transfer target, with the former Everton boss understood to be a keen admirer.
It is felt that Hwang would suit Silva’s plan, and Fosun are ready to green light a move for the South Korean, with a transfer fee of around £13m paid.
The Cottagers have already held early talks over a deal for the £70k-a-week striker, who has plenty of Premier League experience, scored 27 goals in 148 games for Old Gold and was hailed as a “miracle” by Statsman Dave.
Raul Jimenez next update
The Wolves striker could be replaced by Raul Jimenez, with the Mexican’s current contract set to expire at the end of the season.
At the age of 35, it would be risky to offer Jimenez a long-term deal, although he has been a key player all season, currently sitting second in the Premier League goalscoring charts at Fulham.

However, it is still possible for the former Wolves center to pen a new deal, should talks go smoothly, Jimenez recently said: “I don’t know yet… we’re still working on everything, there’s time, and we’ll see what happens in the next few games.
It really depends on what Fulham decide, in the negotiations, about the offer, and then we will analyze what is best.”
