Fabrizio Romano shares Marco Palestra update as Chelsea prepare bid for rivals Inter Milan

Chelsea are likely to launch their first major transfer program of the summer.
Their biggest exit in the window, of course, was Marc Cucurella’s move to Real Madrid.
The Spaniard completed his transfer after being one of Chelsea’s key players in recent seasons.
His rapid departure created the need for reinforcements at left back.
Alvaro Carreras is a player Chelsea have been targeting, with reports in recent weeks suggesting the club have been eyeing up the old-school Man United star as they look at potential replacements.
Chelsea’s recruitment plans have not stopped at the full-back positions.

The club continued to look for additions to the central defense as well.
Football.london recently reported that Chelsea are looking to add a defender who can quickly compete for a starting spot.
Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande featured prominently in those discussions.
Reports from France claim Chelsea have made contact with the Ivory Coast international after learning he could be available for less than his release clause.

Xabi Alonso’s have extended their hand.
Midfield is yet another area under review.
Felix Nmecha has been offered to a number of Premier League clubs through intermediaries, including Chelsea.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has recently caught the eye after impressing Germany at the World Cup, and that is happening as the future of Enzo Fernandez is becoming a big issue.
Reports from Italy suggested the Argentine had reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Real Madrid, and those reports said Chelsea were reluctant to lose Fernandez but could face the Spanish giants head-on.
The striker’s position has also created speculation.
Dusan Vlahovic has been offered to several clubs, including Chelsea, as his side explore solutions for the future of the Serbian international.
Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson has been linked with interest from Italy.
Recent reports from England believe that Juventus have discussed including Jackson in talks involving Chelsea target Andrea Cambiaso.
Against this decline in rumours, another name has appeared near the top of Chelsea’s shortlist.
Chelsea prepared to hijack Inter Milan talks for Marco Palestra
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are ready to launch a major move for Atalanta sensation Marco Palestra.
His report claims that Chelsea are willing to offer more than £43 million for the top-class defender.
This figure would put Chelsea ahead of Inter Milan’s current offer.
Inter have been in ‘advanced’ talks with Atalanta for around £39 million guaranteed, with a further £4.3 million available in bonuses.
Those talks have been going on for almost a week, but now Chelsea appear ready to hijack him by promising him.
However, Chelsea are now trying to enter the race aggressively.
The London club are understood to be willing to bypass Inter’s financial package.
Romano’s report in X also claims that Chelsea are willing to offer the player improved personal terms compared to those available at Milan.
As a result, the decision could end up in Palestra and Atalanta.
The player is regarded as one of the most promising young defenders in Italian football, and his development in Serie A has attracted interest from several of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Chelsea’s recruitment team has put a lot of emphasis on signing top quality young talent in recent transfer windows, and the ‘perfect’ Palestra fits that profile.
