Brazil v Egypt statistics

  • Brazil have won all six meetings between the countries, most recently winning 2-0 in a friendly at Al-Rayyan in 2011 with goals from former Valencia player Jonas.
  • They have conceded in each of their last four games (including friendlies) and five of their last six, conceding nine in total in those games.
  • Three of Brazil’s six appearances in Africa have been beaten by W2, although their 2-0 win over Senegal in London and 1-1 draw with Tunisia in Lille in November – both friendlies – mean they have never lost twice to such teams.
  • Botafogo midfielder Danilo and Brentford striker Igor Thiago have scored one goal in Brazil’s last two matches.
  • Barcelona’s Raphinha was top scorer with five goals in the qualifiers, although the 29-year-old has not scored for his country since a 2-1 home win over Colombia in March 2025.
  • This will be the eighth friendly of Carlo Ancelotti’s 12-match reign, with Italy’s four World Cup qualifiers between June and September 2025 drawn in Ecuador and Bolivia, whichever team wins at home against Paraguay and Chile.
  • Egypt was going to host Brazil in the Confederations Cup in Bloemfontein in 2009 but in the 90th minute Kaka scored a penalty when the team that won the Ballon d’Or in 2007 won 4-3.
  • They have kept clean sheets in their last four games, going more than six hours and 42 minutes without conceding a score.
  • In three World Cup matches, Egypt has not won a single match. They lost all three of their games in 2018 and picked up two points in 1990.
  • Mohamed Salah needs two goals to equal coach Hossam Hassan’s record of 69 goals in Egypt
