Arsenal are now keen to sign Barcelona’s 16-goal goalkeeper in Hazard’s shadow

Arsenal are keen to sign Ajax star Mika Godts, and the striker is now being linked with many of Europe’s top players.

Scouts were on hand to watch the 20-year-old play against NAC Breda at the weekend, and he made a splash, scoring one of the goals of the season in Ajax’s 2-0 Eredivisie win.

Commentator Spencer Mossman praised the youngster for having an “incredibly productive” season, and described him as a “fear in the air”, he has now tallied 29 goals in all competitions.

With that in mind, bringing in a new player this summer could be a smart move, and their interest in the Gods is serious, according to a report from TEAMtalk.

A number of rival Premier League clubs are also keen on the player, alongside players such as La Liga heavyweights Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, Ajax are preparing for a major sale, although it is not clear what kind of money they are looking for.

Unlike Godts, who has been a key player for Ajax, Gabriel Martinelli has fallen flat at Arsenal this season, completing 90 minutes just once in the Premier League since the start of the year.

There have been reports that Martinelli wants to leave this summer, amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain, and Andrea Berta is set to take the La Liga star in place of the Brazilian.
