Arsenal are considering a £52m release clause for the hot Portuguese winger
Arsenal are now keen to sign Sporting CP striker Francisco Trincao in the summer, but face competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea.
Trincao tore it up in the Liga Portugal and the Champions League
Although it looked like FC Porto would win the Liga Portugal title, it has been an excellent campaign for Trincao on a personal level, with the attacking midfielder netting 30 goals in all competitions.

On the other hand, the Gunners do not have a reliable player, captain Martin Odegaard who spent most of the season on the treatment table due to injury.
Leandro Trossard stepped up to the plate when needed, amassing 10 assists in 48 games in all competitions, and the Belgian scored the winner in Sunday’s crucial 1-0 win over West Ham United, putting his side on the brink of a title win.
There was drama late on, with Callum Wilson’s goal ruled out by VAR after a lengthy check, but Mikel Arteta’s side survived, and will put Manchester City first by winning their remaining two games, against Burnley and Crystal Palace.
However, with Odegaard missing 13 Premier League games due to various injuries this season, Arsenal are keen to sign a new midfielder in the summer, joining the race to sign Trincao.
That’s according to a report from Caught Offside, which reveals there is a €60m (£52m) release clause in the former Barcelona star’s contract, with Liverpool and Chelsea showing interest.
The 26-year-old has established himself at international level, racking up 17 caps for Portugal, and has been hailed as a “no-brainer” by Premier League commentator Joshua Smith.
Arteta hails “brave” officials in dramatic win at West Ham
Disallowing a Wilson goal could have a huge impact on the Premier League title race and relegation battle, with Tottenham Hotspur able to move four points clear of their London rivals with a win at Leeds United tonight.
However, Arteta has no doubt that officials have come to the right conclusion, they said: “It was a very brave call from a lawyer, but very much in line with what they’ve been talking about all season.
“When I have to criticize, I have been. And today I have to praise them, at least for giving the referee an option to decide, away from the lights and the chaos, to clarify for him to make the right call. And if you look at the action in that way, it’s a clear mistake.
“It’s a free-kick, and the goal should be disallowed. So congratulations, because they made a great call in very difficult situations.”
