Friedman: “So I thank James Myrtle for that. He was the first person who said they interviewed a current person, or asked permission to speak with a current NHL GM. My first thought was that it would be Eric Tulsky, because, you know, he talked about the press conference, right?
But I heard it wasn’t, and it was BriseBois. And I’m not, I mean, hey, like, throw a Hail Mary, right? Like, why not? Why didn’t you ask to talk to him? But I don’t think anyone is surprised that Nyazi said no. And I think he is, he might think he’s a really smart guy.
Anyway, I, the answer, the simple way to answer your question, I don’t know. Like, I always think there are people I don’t see. I don’t know everything, and while I think I have a decent handle on who they’re talking to, who they’re talking to, Maddie, I can’t sit here and honestly promise you that I don’t have it, I haven’t missed someone who’s interviewed or asked for permission to talk. These things happen often.
As for a timeline, I don’t have one. As long as no one comes to me and says that the pursuit of Sundin is over, I still think it will be him and John Chayka.”
Marchese: “Okay, so okay, so now here I am, I wanted to just go back to the BriseBois thing. So if you’re asking for permission to interview Julien BriseBois, why, why did you stop there? Like, maybe they didn’t, but why did they stop there? Why can’t you just, like, run the gamut here? Ask everyone that, which can be found.”
Friedman: “I don’t know that they didn’t.”

Friedman: “I don’t know. Like, I can’t, I, maybe, I mean, I, I would think he’s not the only guy who asked for permission, but I don’t know that. You know, not a lot of people are coming on the air right now, Matt, so it’s hard to talk. There’s a lot, a lot of my texts and calls that go unanswered and even more than unanswered.”
