Sunderland’s learning curve for star signing as club faces imminent £26m sale

Sunderland have been given a boost in the race to sign defensive star Regis Le Bris this summer.

The Black Cats are still waiting to launch their currency exchange business, but they may not have to wait long. With European football on offer these days, those on Wearside are looking for some ambitious names.

That includes Celtic’s Arne Engels. The midfielder looks to be on his way out of Scottish football this summer and Premier League clubs are slowly starting to come around.

In terms of quality, Engels would be an excellent addition considering the Europa League, especially alongside someone of Granit Xhaka’s stature next season.

He may be joined by Khephren Thuram in another statement he signed. As a Celtic man, Thuram could leave in the coming months and is open to a move to the Premier League.

Sunderland have entered the race to sign one of the most sought-after midfielders in Scottish football.

Despite competition from rivals Newcastle United, Sunderland’s European face could still lure the Frenchman to the Stadium of Light in their best combination yet.

Serie A seems to be where it’s at for the Black Cats this summer, too. Alongside Thuram, they also set their sights on strengthening Italy’s defense.

Sunderland are ready to sign the £26m star

The Wearside chiefs are once again in a spending mood according to the latest reports.

According to ParmaLive, as reported by Sports Witness, Sunderland are now preparing to sign Mariano Troilo from Parma and are in a good position to land a defender this summer.

The Italian club do not want to lose their defender, but accept the fact that they will inevitably have to accept any offers worth €30m (£26m) in the coming months.

That gives Sunderland a huge boost and plenty to consider, as Troilo will be their second most expensive signing in history following Habib Diarra’s £27m move last summer.

They were not afraid to break many records last summer, and since then they have matched that ambition on the field. With Parma stating their price, Sunderland should match and sign 22-year-old Troilo, who has yet to reach the peak of his powers.
