Spurs and Liverpool get the green light to bid for the star as the race leader emerges

Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have now received a major boost in the race to sign the sensational centre-back, who could be on the way this summer.
The Lilywhites are focused on the back ahead of next season following another poor campaign which has seen them play in the religious zone.
They have already moved quickly to welcome both Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi, with two free agents signing to give the club a double deal.
Welcoming Senesi with open arms, Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi told the club’s website: “Marcos’ experience, quality on the ball, and competitive edge will strengthen our defense and give us flexibility in form.
“He is comfortable playing in a football team, he studies the game well and has a personality that would thrive in a difficult environment.”
Even after welcoming Senesi, however, Spurs were not done there with defensive reinforcements. Now reports suggest that they could sign another full-back, especially as rumors persist that Brighton are looking for Luka Vuskovic and the Seagulls’ insistence on Jan Paul van Hecke.

Tottenham and Liverpool have given the green light to the defender
As reported by Caught Offside, Tottenham and Liverpool have now been given the green light to bid for Joel Ordonez if they match Club Brugge’s €45m (£37m) asking price.
Although the Belgian club are reluctant to lose their defender, there is an admission that such a bid would be too good to turn down in the coming months – giving the two Premier League players a huge boost.
For Liverpool, it is an opportunity to replace Ibrahima Konate following his departure as a free agent. They already have Jeremy Jacquet on the way, but they could do with an extra option. Alas, as things stand, the Reds are not in pole position.
Reports have suggested that Tottenham are leading the race to sign Ordonez and could make their first big splash this summer to land the 22-year-old.

As far as cheap alternatives go, Ordonez wouldn’t be a bad option to turn to this summer. If Spurs are determined to leave, however, it is clear that Van Hecke should be their top option. With the terms of both deals outlined, those in North London have a big decision to make.
