Weekly Notes:

Note: All Player Rater statistics and values are accurate for Sunday’s games.

Kade Smith 3 SV, 6:0 K:BB. He said at the start of the season he was Mason Miller for half the cost. The ratings weren’t as high as many would have thought, but the stats are there. Ratings will probably go up, too. That there’s a FIP is a far cry from what an ERA means, and that’s where the K-BB% suggests that the WHIP will likely factor into his career — despite the 1.25 mark so far, it’s still well below 1.00. I love this faller. It’s very small not love the picture below. The guy is a top talent that will be expensive next year, I bet. So the trick will be choosing who will be the Cade Smith of 2027. That’s September’s issue…

Riley O’Brien 2 SV, 1 BSV, 4:0 K:BB. You still haven’t left a soul this year. They got stuck like that as the Cardinals approached.

Rico Garcia 2 KV, 4:3 K:BB. Trying to tell everyone that this guy needs to be registered everywhere out there. Only 67% are registered in Fantrax leagues?! I swear 94% of the Fantrax league count is holding anyway. This is crazy.

Gregory Soto 2 KV, 3:1 K:BB. As Dennis Santana is boo boo butter, Soto is close again. Find him if you can. I’ll take the L here: I was hesitant to fully trust Soto, but we’re at 20.1 IP on the year now, which is a nice sample of the dice. Bro allowed 6 H, only 3 ER, and 7 BB while striking out 26. His work sample tells another story, but I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now. It was worth over $20 at Razzbucks this week. Hot shadow!

Devin Williams 2 SV, 4:0 K:BB. Did you hide the corner? A guy with his pedigree probably needs a bath while he’s there to take. It finished just behind Soto as the #2 RP this week according to Razz $.

Bryan Baker 2 SV, 1 HLD, 2:1 K:BB

Brad Keller 2 SV, 1 L, 3:2 K:BB. Welp, so far he’s not what he was last year. You can only release all SV formats now that Duran is back, but I prefer to believe that more catches are coming in the coming weeks/months.

Aroldis Chapman 2 SV, 3:0 K:BB

Kevin Kelly 3 HLD, 2:0 K:BB. The Rays have had a lot of small leads in the late innings lately, so it is abundant of SVHD have been around. With Cleavinger back, Kelly is the leading third wheel here.

JoJo Romero 3 HLD, 3:1 K:BB. It’s boring but it works.

George Soriano 3 HLD, 3:2 K:BB. I’m going to need two more weeks in a row before I buy George Soriano.

Garrett Cleavinger 3 HLD, 5:0 K:BB. Like I just said, he’s back and playing the second film in Baker back there.

Anthony Nunez 3 HLD, 3:2 K:BB

Bryan King 2 SV, 2:0 K:BB. I can’t say I like the WHIP lately, and Hader will be back soon. Decent holds the option in deep formats until Abreu finds it.

Notable traders with 2 HLD this week:

Matt Festa 2 HLD, 5:1 K:BB. Lots of catching up in the last two weeks. I’m not sold yet. But I also can’t say I like Gaddis very much either.

Keaton Winn 2 HLD, 1:1 K:BB

Jose Ferrer 2 HLD, 4:0 K:BB

Jeremiah Estrada 2 HLD, 5:1 K:BB. It looks like the strikeout is still at a high level.

Jeff Hoffman 2 HLD, 2:0 K:BB

Adrian Morejon 2 HLD, 5:0 K:BB.

Garrett Whitlock 2 HLD, 4:1 K:BB

Grant Wolfram 2 HLD, 2:0 K:BB

Erik Sabrowski 2 HLD, 5:1 K:BB. Up to 14 HLD now. I don’t have many victory laps to take this year, but I tried to put Sabrowski on everyone’s radar. It was tough on BB% last year… think a 29:7 K:BB puts that fear to rest.

Eduard Bazardo 2 HLD, 1 BSV, 1 L, 3:1 K:BB

Andrew Nardi 2 HLD, 1 L, 3:2 K:BB

Notable bummers of the week:

Tyler Rogers 1 BSV, 1 L, 20.77 ERA, 5.38 WHIP. Bad things, but c’est la vie. You will turn it around.

Tyler Kinley 1 BSV, 1 L, 15.65 ERA, 2.61 WHP. When will Dylan Lee take his rightful throne as an elite setup man?

Jack Perkins 1 BSV, 1 L, 1 HLD, 13.50 ERA, 2.50 WHIP. I pumped up those Perkins tires a few weeks ago and here we are. He is in the doghouse but he should be back in the yard at least.

Fernando Cruz 1 BSV, 1 L, 1 HLD, 3.46 ERA, 1.92 WHIP

Emilio Pagan 1 BSV, 1 L, 25.71 ERA, 2.86 WHIP

Injury news this week:

Emilio Pagan hit the IL. Hamstring. It will probably be a few weeks. Tony Santillan and Graham Ashcraft have improved a lot.

Carlos Estevez he was preparing, aaaaand then he hurt his shoulder. My boy may be cooked. I hear all you Lucas Erceg owners wring your hands and walk away from here.

Josh Hader it’s currently working. You are very close.

That’s it for this week! Thanks for reading. Leave me a comment below to make me feel all warm and fuzzy.
