Weekly Notes:
Note: All Player Rater statistics and values are accurate for Sunday’s games.
Louis Varland3 SV, 1 HLD, 7:1 K:BB. You received your first dose [Gus] Varland last week, and here’s your second one with Louis. BB% for the year is pretty sweet. Whenever you are north of 30%, you are doing the Lord’s work. He’s been hitless in his last two outings, but overall, this guy has had the best start to 2026 of anyone. He didn’t have an SVHD until Hoffman beat his pantaloons. One of my preseason Ls to eat. I liked Brendon a little, and that was just dumb. Varland was used pretty much every single game in the playoffs (15 games!) and was super clutch, and he continues where he left off, drawing opposing hitters like the Arkansas Razorbacks second.

Tyler Rogers4 HLD, 2:0 K:BB. Here is the TyRog we all know and love. Dude is a clothing company. The measurements should remain stable, and the K’s should remain absent.
Andres Munoz3 SW, 7:1 K:BB. That’s the kind of stuff you paid for on draft day.
Mason Miller3 SV, 2:0 K:BB. How are you guys, only 2 K? Consider higher sales. (Jk, please don’t do that).
Pete Fairbanks3 SV, 5:0 K:BB. Crazy Eyes Fairbanks quietly continues to be one of the best closers around. You should like a -0.72 FIP in a given week. His 7.27 ERA is bad, but his 2.32 FIP on the year is not.
Seranthony Dominguez3 SV, 5:1 K:BB. He has been great with 6 SV and 1 W so far, even if he also lost this week.
Robert Suarez2 SV, 1 HLD, 3:1 K:BB. Back to closing full time and doing good work. The stats are clean – his ERA is much lower than his ELite WHIP.
Erik Miller1 SV, 2 HLD, 4:2 K:BB. Little time to win. I’ve been an E-Mill fan (no one calls him that, but now I do) for a few years. Just one of those health problems. So far so good in 2026: 5 SVHD, 1.77 FIP, 16:6 K:BB.
Jeff Hoffman1 SV, 2 HLD, 5:1 K:BB. Went into this piece of notes since owning a 3 SVHD. I must say, things are still going well. For whatever reason, you get frustrated. And by well, I mean elite-ly. By determination: 41 K%, 44.1 Whiff% (100th percentile), 36.1 CSW% (99th percentile), 39.9 O-Swing% (98th percentile). That’s not all I could play with. But I learned my lesson with Griffin Jax: good things don’t always work. Hoffman is out of contention for now, but he can make it back. They love that guy in Toronto.
Jaden Hill3 HLD, 4:2 K:BB. Those numbers from the Rockies RP will raise anyone’s eyebrows. But here’s the caveat: 10.13 ERA and 3.33 WHIP. Ahhh yes, that makes a lot of sense now.
Notable sellers with 2 SVHD this week:
Jack Perkins2 SV, 5:0 K:BB. That young man from Kuhnel has already disappeared into the dust. Catch Perkins wherever you can. He can change in a heartbeat, but he’s a hot hand right now.
Hogan Harris2 HLD, 5:1 K:BB. We are doing a great job this year. Thought he’d be in the backup mix, but dubs his bread and butter this year, apparently (he has 1 SV). Bad kicker 16:13 K:BB. And allow 10 H. Stands to assume that a negative exit is coming if that doesn’t change.
Bryan Baker2 SV, 2:0 K:BB. Clear the radiation nearby now. If for some reason it is on your phone, you know what to do.
Aroldis Chapman2 SV, 3:0 K:BB. Guy only put up 8.2 IP this year, somehow.
Ryan Walker2 SWT, 2:1 K:BB. To prove me wrong. Maybe you’ve already thought about it. You have to add and hope for the best.
Erik Sabrowski2 HLD, 5:1 K:BB. Only boy to eclipse the milestone of 10 HLD so far. Nice and sweet 20:5 K:BB, to boot. Since our Player Rater is geared towards the standard 5×5, all those HLDs don’t carry much weight. Do not pervert, pard; he used to be a stud.
Keaton Winn2 HLD, 2:0 K:BB. Climbing the Giants bullpen totem pole again lately. Up to 5 HLD with 13:2 K:BB. Paltry 0.56 WHIP.
Trevor McGill2 HLD, 3:1 K:BB. Still amazing in SVHD leagues. We got ink that we’ll see him close games again eventually.
Jason Adam2 HLD, 1:0 K:BB. One of the strongest setup men you could ask for. It gets nothing but high power (6 SVHD is already only 5.2 IP) and it always delivers.
Notable bummers of the week:
Lucas Erceg1 BSV, 4:6 K:BB, 2.25 ERA, 1.75 ERA. Things are bad dude. Truth be told, you have a lot of work I have to do before I have a shred of faith that he can last long in this gig.
Gus Varland1 BSV, 4:0 K:BB, 2.43 ERA, 1.35 ERA. The songs that the boy yelled at me saying that he caught them last week came out and didn’t give you anything. You got HLD at least. You’ll find out below that Clayton Better hit IL, and Gus was solid, so keep riding that Gus Bus, buddy.
Tanner Banks1 BSV, 2 L, 2:3 K:BB, 27.69 ERA, 8.46 ERA. Bad week for this guy. Wow.
Drew Pomeranz1 BSV, 1 L, 2:2 K:BB, 19.57 ERA, 3.48 WHIP
Angel Zerpa1 BSV, 1 L, 3:1 K:BB, 10.59 ERA, 1.76 WHIP
Ryan Helsley1 L, 3:2 K:BB, 6.92 ERA, 1.54 SWIP
Paul Sewald1 L, 1:3 K:BB, 15.88 ERA, 2.94 ERA. Roh roh. You are shocked the original hard all year. I hope this is not a sign of things to come.
Devin Williams1 L, 4:3 K:BB, 15.88 ERA, 4.12 ERA. It’s still bad.
Caleb Thielbar1 BSV, 1:0 K:BB, 12.86 ERA, 2.86 WHIP. Click on IL. My immediate reaction is below.
JoJo Romero1 L, 2:0 K:BB, 15.88 ERA, 1.76 WHIP
Joel Kuhnel1 L, 1:1 K:BB, 7.50 ERA, 2.92 WHIP
Tony Santillan1 BSV, 1:0 K:BB, 15.88 ERA, 1.76 WHIP
Dylan Lee1 BSV, 4:0 K:BB, 3.00 ERA, 0.33 WHIP. It’s clear to me that this man isn’t caught while the likes of Tyler Kinley and Aaron Bummer are. I refuse to believe that this trend is still going on. FORWARD.
Tanner Scott1 L, 1:1 K:BB, 6.67 ERA, 1.11 ERA. Think he’s still the top option in saves right now, but also think the leash is pretty short considering how he handled that role last year.
Blake Treinen1 BSV, 2:0 K:BB, 9.00 ERA, 3.00 WHIP
Alex Vesia, ND, 1:1 K:BB, 18.00 ERA, 3.00 WHIP. The Dodgers’ bullpen didn’t have it this week.
Injury news this week:
Clayton Beeter: The front. Wow. So much for that person who sleeps well I called him the preseason. Sowwy!
Caleb Thielbar: Hamstring. Bullshit fell like my post-coffee bowels. Ben Brown again Corbin Martin to climb? I think? Is it possible? Martin got the only non-Thielbar save. Phil Maton activated, however, I don’t know that I like him very much right now. The rare case of the Cardinal of St. Louis who snorted as he left. But since he flew so close to the sun his entire time there, I think that’s fine.
Bennett Sousa: It has been activated. It’s thrown badly, but we can do that to the rust if we’re feeling generous. Or not.
Keegan Akin: It has been activated. Maybe it’s starting to eat up your innings for a bunch of IP lovers out there, but don’t think any upside is in the cards with the way Garcia and Nunez are playing.
Jordan Romano: DFA’d. Big oof. I saw someone spend $600-something FAAB on him in my RazzSlam league lol. There are only two FAAB sessions there, and the next one isn’t even June, so I get it. Go big or go home. Still worth it lol.
That’s it for this week! Thanks for reading. Leave me a comment below to make me feel warm and fuzzy.
