Napoli handed the title to Inter as Bayern and PSG both drew

Napoli’s reign as Serie A champions has come to a successful end. A goalless draw at the Stadio Sinigaglia on Saturday means Inter Milan can win their 21st Scudetto by beating Parma at the San Siro on Sunday, with Antonio Conte’s side on the most agonizing run imaginable.

Como dominated for a long time, hitting the woodwork through Matteo Politano in the 84th minute in the most crucial moment of the game, and only Vanja Milinkovic-Savic saved to deny Martin Baturina shortly after the break that kept the champions level.

Now Napoli must watch as Cristian Chivu’s Inter need just one point from their remaining four games to lift the title. The gap between the sides stands at nine points.

The result was equally costly for Como, who went into the game knowing that their Champions League hopes depended on three points. Cesc Fabregas’ side have drawn nine league games this season, the most for a team chasing the top four.

Anastasios Douvikas had the ball in the net in the first 10 minutes but it was denied by Amir Rrahmani’s goal line.

Baturina dragged wide from a good position. Assane Diao had a close-range effort saved by Milinkovic-Savic before the break. Moments later it was more of the same, with Baturina pulling off a good save from the Serbian keeper.

Politano’s curling effort on goal in the 84th minute summed up both sides for the afternoon. Como couldn’t score despite their size. Napoli couldn’t convert their real chance to win late on.

With four games remaining, Como sit fifth in Serie A, two points behind fourth-placed Juventus. They will need Juventus and Roma to drop points in the coming weeks while they find a way to score the goals they failed to do on Saturday.

Bayern have scored six goals in the Bundesliga

In Germany, champions Bayern Munich were crushed by Heidenheim at the Allianz Arena, ending up with a 3-3 draw in a dramatic final match.

Vincent Kompany had a major turnaround ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League second leg against PSG, and Heidenheim – desperately fighting for top-flight survival – punished the changes harshly.

Budu Zivzivadze headed home in the 22nd minute from Marnon Busch’s return ball, and Eren Dinkci equalized after a well-spaced pass by Busch in the 31st minute.

Leon Goretzka pulled one back with a stunning free-kick before the break, before Kompany sent on Kane, Olise, Diaz and Kimmich at the break.

Goretzka scored the second from Olise’s corner on 57 minutes to level the score at 2-2, but Heidenheim stunned the Allianz again when Zivzivadze curled a stunning goal into the top corner on 76 minutes to restore their lead.

It looked like a rare victory for a club focused on Bundesliga footy. In the 100th minute, Olise’s shot went off the goal post and the goalkeeper Diant Ramaj, who had no time to react. Bayern was saved from death.

PSG drop points as Ligue 1 leads

Paris Saint-Germain’s grip on the Ligue 1 title slipped on Saturday when Lorient held Luis Enrique’s side to a 2-2 draw at the Parc des Princes in a result that gave rivals Lens the chance to close the gap at the top.

Ibrahim Mbaye gave PSG the first goal on six minutes when the ball bounced off his face and into the net from Desire Doue’s cross, but Pablo Pagis equalized quickly, volleying past Panos Katseris.

Warren Zaire-Emery, as his substitute, restored PSG’s lead moments after coming on in the 62nd minute with a deflected drive. But Aiyegun Tosin caught starter Pierre Mounguengue and finished coolly to make it 2-2 on 78 minutes.

The drama has long seen Mayulu hit the post and PSG’s penalty was awarded and then canceled by VAR during stoppage time. PSG maintain a seven-point lead at the top, but Lens travel to Nice on Saturday evening with the chance to cut that lead to four. The two sides are also meeting later this month.
