Morgan Rielly Knows Another Change Is Coming, But Will You Be Asked To Be Part Of The Change?
Morgan Rielly said he wants to stay, but will the next GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs contact him about a fresh start?
Lance Hornby: Rielly on speculation he’ll be asked this offseason about waiving his no-movement clause: “It’s hard to comment if that conversation doesn’t happen.”
Arun Srinivasan: Rielly said yesterday that he wants to stay with the Maple Leafs and has not been contacted about a possible trade.
Luke Fox: Rielly knows there will be some changes this offseason, but adds, “I’ve always wanted to stay. I still want to stay.”

Tyler Kuehl of the Daily Faceoff: David Pagnotta was on Daily Faceoff Live earlier this week, when he was asked about Morgan Rielly’s future with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Last season on their locker-cleaning day, GM Brad Treleving talked to Rielly about whether he could be open to a move, and it sounds like it didn’t go far.
“I think if I look at that, I look at everything that affects this club this season, how things have gone, obviously there is a change coming to whoever is appointed as GM. He will probably look at that.
His name came up before the trade deadline, in deadline week. There was a team that was negotiating with Toronto trying to do that. Now, even if they go back in the summer with a new guy, we’ll wait and see, but I think there are a few teams that could look to see if there’s an availability.
I think there will be teams curious about what the Toronto Maple Leafs want to do. I think Morgan is curious about what could happen to him. I think he was a little more open than he usually is about the possibility that, yes, this could be the end. … So, we’ll see where this goes. “
The fourth season: There was speculation surrounding Morgan Rielly in late February, early March, leading up to the NHL trade deadline. He has four years left on his contract at $7.5 million, plus a full no-movement clause.
There are rumors that the San Jose Sharks, Chicago Blackhawks and Seattle Kraken had some interest in Rielly.
