Man Utd are in talks to sign the £77m World Cup star

Will Marcus Rashford play for Manchester United next season? Well, more than that, actually, with the England international pocketing £325k a week at Old Trafford.
A member of Ruben Amorim’s infamous bomb squad, Rashford found solace when he was loaned out for the second half of the season at Aston Villa in 2024/25, then headed to Barcelona last term, influencing the entire campaign and finishing with the La Liga title to call his own.
But La Blaugrana have yet to tie the knot, instead signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United in a deal worth £69m.
Whether 28-year-old Rashford returns to the Theater of Dreams remains to be seen, but it is clear that INEOS are looking to the market for solutions.
Who can Man Utd sign to replace Rashford
Rashford is Man United’s breakout star, having been one of the brightest lights during the post-Fergie era. But it feels like he has run his course with his youth club, and getting him off the ground this summer will speak to the progress INEOS is trying to make.

Rashford will be welcomed into the ranks of Michael Carrick, but it remains to be seen if this is a ploy to get him sold this summer. Of course, United are on the hunt for new arrivals in attacking positions.
For example, West Ham United’s Crysencio Summerville is interested in the Red Devils, with the relegated Dutchman valued at £60m.
Summerville’s pace and power down the left would help him establish himself at Old Trafford; they are the type of smart players who have signed this team 13 years ago.
However, while it is important for INEOS not to waste money, sometimes, an opportunity comes along that is too good to pass up.
Man United in talks to sign “world-class star”
Manchester United are trying to get as much summer business done as possible before the end of the window, and the £50m capture of Andrey Santos is proof of that.
Santos ebbed and flowed at Chelsea last season, but the Brazilian midfielder has a lot of potential for Carrick to tap into as he rebuilds with Casemiro gone.
Man United appear to be aiming to strengthen their Brazilian squad this summer, and with that in mind, why not target the stars and try to sign Vince Junior to help rebuild their frontline?
The infamous Real Madrid striker is one of the best players in the game. The global sensation, who is in contract trouble with Los Blancos, is widening the window of opportunity for clubs like Man United to swoop in, and TEAMtalk is actually reporting that the 25-year-old’s representatives have been linked with a number of Premier League outfits, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Given that the Selecao star has only one year left on his contract, Real Madrid are reluctant to sell him for £77m, although they remain confident they can extend his stay in the Spanish capital.

This is one of the best strikers in the world, a player who played well and danced his way to a successful life with Real Madrid, full of trophies and goals.
Rashford has had a strong season in Spain and Barcelona, but he is not of the same quality as Vinicius Junior, who Carlo Ancelotti recently hailed as “one of the best players in the world”.
At the World Cup, Vini outclassed his 2025/26 La Liga rival, and it’s fair to say that while Rashford held the league title, his teammate produced some exciting performances.

Vinicius Junior plays with a directness and swagger that reminds us of Rashford in his Old Trafford glory, but the truth is that he is more talented than the former United man – and that’s saying something.
