Magnes Akliouche is expected to leave AS Monaco as Tottenham open negotiations
Tottenham Hotspur are now stepping up their pursuit of a new player, after being linked with a deal for AS Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche.
Akliouche is currently at the World Cup with the French national team, but played a minor role in his side’s Group I victory without conceding a point, appearing for just seven minutes, a late substitute in the 3-0 win against Iraq.
The Frenchman struggled to force his way into a star-studded front line, including the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, and the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Norway to claim top spot.
However, the Monaco man was also praised for his attacking style by scout Antonio Mango, who said: “Akliouche is incredibly talented, he has great ball skills and the ability to dive past opponents. It’s an amazing idea too.”
