Liverpool will hold talks on a new contract with Rio Ngumoha

Liverpool are struggling to agree a new deal with their attacking talent, Rio Ngumoha, amid interest from Bayern Munich.

Following its impressive expansion, Rio Ngumoha has attracted great interest across Europe. Although there is significant time left on his current contract, his future has become a major talking point amid interest from Bayern Munich.

According to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, Liverpool are concerned about his future and will look to tie him down to a new contract when he turns 18, as there have been suggestions that the German giants have agreed personal terms with the youngster and will look to secure his services.

Liverpool will seek a new contract for Rio Ngumoha

When talking about the future of England’s youth, O’Rourke said, “It is clear that Liverpool do not want to lose Rio Ngumoha anytime soon.

“He has a contract until 2028, but I think Liverpool officials will be very keen to sit down with Ngumoha’s representatives and try to get a new deal when he turns 18 in a few months.

“It is clear that Liverpool are not happy with this suggestion that Bayern Munich have agreed to a player to try to make a deal.”

Ngumoha was officially promoted to the Reds first team last summer, but he was already playing first team football. Although he is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in English football and Liverpool consider him an integral part of their long-term plans, his future has been up in the air after a spell under Arne Slot.

Bayern want to lure Ngumoha to Anfield

Although he took part in 29 first-team games, he logged less than 1,000 minutes and scored three goals. Bayern sees this as a good opportunity to try to lure him. They want more quality on the sides. They want someone who can support and compete with Luis Diaz for a place in the starting XI.

The German team considers Ngumoha as the ideal candidate for their project. Reports indicate that they have agreed to a 17-year-old child. These rumors did not please the Reds, who are looking to secure his future with a new deal.

While he signed his first professional deal a few weeks after turning 17 in September last year, with a contract that runs until 2028, Liverpool are now aggressively pursuing a new deal with the versatile striker. They will give him new terms when he turns 18 later this year. They are looking to fend off interest from Bayern and other top clubs with a new long-term deal.

The Merseyside club consider him a key part of their plans going forward, and believe he will play a major role under Andoni Iraola next season.
