Liverpool to bid for ‘most gifted player from Haaland’

Liverpool announced a deal for Spanish midfielder Victor Munoz this week and the Reds are now moving on to their next target, reports Fabrizio Romano.
Liverpool star in World Cup action as Reds sign Munoz
Munoz, who is currently on World Cup duty with Spain, has agreed to a six-year contract after completing a medical at his country’s center in Tennessee.
The 22-year-old was a wanted man and the Anfield club managed to stop Premier League rivals Newcastle from signing him.
Munoz is the first arrival since Arne Slot’s replacement Andoni Iraola was appointed as head coach, although he is the club’s second addition of the summer, with the club agreeing a deal with Rennes for defender Jeremy Jacquet earlier this year.
He has two caps to his name and scored his first international goal against Serbia in March.
Unused in Monday’s disappointing 0-0 Group H draw with World Cup holders Cape Verde, Munoz has made 34 appearances, scoring seven goals and adding five assists in all competitions for Osasuna last season.

He would be a great addition…
He will hope to make his World Cup debut when Spain face Saudi Arabia in Atlanta on Sunday, and will join a number of Reds in North America.
Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo parted ways for Alexander Isak’s Sweden on Saturday – Isak put his injury-plagued season behind him with a stunning goal and two assists as his country beat Tunisia.
Florian Wirtz made a good start to his campaign by helping Germany beat Curacao, but faces a tough test against the Ivory Coast on Saturday evening.

Off the field, Iraola, Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes are working hard to rebuild a team that looked stagnant at times last season, and Romano shared an update on their next big move after Munoz.
Liverpool are set to make a new bid for the 19-year-old defender
Indeed, the reporter claims that Liverpool are willing to ‘go back to the table’ with a new bid for RB Leipzig and Ivory Coast star Yan Diomande.
Scouts at Red Bull have suggested the 19-year-old is ‘their most gifted player since (Erling) Haaland’, so it is no surprise that Liverpool’s €100m (£87m) bid last week was ‘quickly rejected’, according to Romano.
However, Edwards and Hughes are now set to return with another attempt to sign the wonderkid winger, who has been heavily lured by the prospect of playing at Anfield, via Romano’s YouTube channel.
“The player is really tempted by the opportunity to leave now after the World Cup – find a new club and leave quickly.
“It’s a 50-50 situation, Liverpool rejected but expected to return, Liverpool really want Diomande, Liverpool consider Diomande as a target, so they are expected to go back to the table and try to find a solution with Leipzig.”
Diomande scored 12 times and provided eight assists in the Bundesliga last season, and is considered a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool are also looking to improve their defense and are set to pursue Tottenham star Micky van de Ven, but Roberto De Zerbi is determined to keep the Dutchman as one of the faces of his new project in North London.
