Liverpool and Barcelona want Tottenham star Micky van de Ven
Verweij has dropped a major transfer update which reveals that Liverpool and Barcelona are the two European giants who are interested in swooping for Van de Ven.
Both top-flight clubs are looking to pry the lightning-quick defender away from Tottenham to cash in on the cut.
Van de Ven’s incredible speed of recovery and excellent passing ability have made him one of the most desirable left-footed defenders in European football, fitting in well with Barcelona’s top line and Iraola’s vertical system at Anfield.
For Liverpool, he could be a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, his fellow Dutchman.

Roberto De Zerbi was reluctant to part despite the arrival of Van Hecke
Despite the great interest in this player, Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi will not be willing to part with Micky van de Ven.
De Zerbi, who took over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of last season, regards the Dutchman as the most important pillar of his intellectual career.

The Lilywhites have pulled off a major signing by completing a £52 million (€60m) deal for Dutch international defender Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton.

However, De Zerbi does not consider Van Hecke to replace Van de Ven. Instead, it seems that the Italian tactician dreams of pairing the two Netherlands international defenders to form a strong, solid core in his new defense.
Former scout Micky Brown also said that De Zerbi would be reluctant to lose him. He said:
“Everyone knows what he has brought to the team, he has the speed to run, which means he can still recover and do these final challenges, and that can be very important.
“That’s why there is a lot of interest in him, there have been talks about Liverpool and others, so he could be tempted to move forward.
“From Tottenham’s point of view, with De Zerbi coming in, there will be hope that they can convince him to stay.
“The new manager wants to build around him, he wants him to be part of his team and the work he is doing.
“He can work with him to fix some of the problems in his game, if he can stop that speed at the right times and not go up the field, for example.
“He will hope that he will have the opportunity to do that, so that means holding off any exit for now, and trying to convince him that staying could still be an option.
“It could be difficult, and we will see where it goes, but from Spurs’ point of view, they will be reluctant to lose him.”
Leaving Spurs’ hands tied, any incoming bid would need a stellar package to force a sale.
