Liverpool have announced the signing of Jarrod Bowen to replace Mo Salah

Mohamed Salah’s impending departure at the end of the 2025/26 season marks the end of an era at Liverpool.
As the Egyptian king prepares to bid farewell to Anfield after nine record-breaking years, the Merseyside giants face a huge task in replacing one of the greatest players in Premier League history.
Despite reports linking Liverpool with a move for international stars such as Athletic Club’s Nico Williams and RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, former striker Michael Owen has backed the Premier League player to replace Salah at Anfield.
West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen has been backed by Owen to move to Anfield.
Liverpool are looking for a replacement for Mo Salah
Replacing Salah is more than just signing a talented player, it needs to identify a player who can handle a lot of pressure while delivering consistent results from the right flank.
Asked by talkSPORT about seeing Bowen at Liverpool, the football pundit said:
“How do you know?
“I said that to some of my teammates the other day, I said if I have one player.
“Now, obviously, Jarrod Bowen is a legend of a player, West Ham, you know, love the man, and rightly so.
“But, if West Ham go down, it will suit me.
“I think you are absolutely brilliant.
“I was lucky enough to act as an elite master class in the TV show we did with him last season, I couldn’t believe it.
“Honestly, left foot, right foot, flicking, cornering, speed.
“I think he is a brilliant player. I would take him to the World Cup, and, as I say, you know, I don’t want to upset the West Ham fans, but if they go down, it would be my idea to have someone replace Salah.”
At 29 years of age, Bowen represents a ready-made, Premier League-proven solution. The Englishman has the ability to stand out at a big club.
Despite West Ham’s turbulent season, Bowen has maintained his high standards. The Hammers captain remains their reliable center of attack, constantly troubling defenders with his direct runs and sharp end product.
What reduction would Bowen say?
Bowen is currently tied to a lucrative, long-term contract at the London Stadium which runs until June 2030.
Under normal circumstances, offloading him would require a hefty sum, with his current value hovering around the £60 million mark.
However, West Ham’s tough fight against relegation could change the situation.
Keeping their high achiever and talisman would be very difficult, both financially and from a sporting perspective.
The relegation situation will undoubtedly force West Ham to soften their stance, opening the door for Liverpool.
