Liverpool are considering a move for Arsenal target Diomande
Andoni Iraola has been tasked with bringing Liverpool back to the top after Arne Slot was sacked despite securing Champions League football in 2026-27.
The scale of the reconstruction is important. Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Iraima Konaté have all departed, leaving Iraola to rebuild large parts of a team that looked out of breath and out of ideas for points last season.
Salah’s exit has been the focus of attention – a worst-case scenario at Christmas he never recovered from, despite signing a new contract after winning the title.
On the incoming side, Liverpool sealed the signing of Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet in February, while Spanish winger Victor Munoz was signed this week after the Reds jumped ahead of Newcastle to trigger his release clause.
The Osasuna star, who scored six goals in Spain’s top flight last season at the struggling club, has signed a long-term deal at Anfield subject to a successful application for work permit and international clearance.

Having started his career at Barcelona’s academy, he began his senior career at Real Madrid, making four appearances – all as a substitute – before joining Los Rojillos last summer.
The 22-year-old is not expected to be the only new signing this summer, with the Reds already having a €100m (£87m) bid for RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande rejected.

Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool to bid for ‘most gifted player since Haaland’
The Reds are working on another deal after signing Munoz.
Fabrizio Romano shared an update on the Liverpool winger
Diomande scored 12 times and provided eight assists in the Bundesliga last season and starred in Ivory Coast’s World Cup opener against Ecuador.
He is not the only target on the shortlist though, and Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Liverpool also have an eye on PSG star Bradley Barcola.
The French player is expected to consider his options this summer as he has followed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia aka Luis Enrique.
“It’s going to be a crazy summer in terms of midfielders.
“Don’t forget the name of Liverpool’s Bradley Barcola, don’t forget it.”
Arsenal are reportedly preparing a quick bid for PSG, so FSG may have to act quickly if they want to bring him to Merseyside.
The Gunners are looking to improve their options on the wing after Gabriel Martinelli’s poor season and the continued injury problems of Bukayo Saka.
The 23-year-old Barcola started just 21 games in Ligue 1 last season, but managed to be his club’s top scorer with 11.
That is now his second consecutive season of scoring in double figures in the French top flight, and he is expected to cost more than £80m this summer.
