Leeds United showed their pulling power when they won the race to sign free agent Harry Wilson after his contract with Fulham expired.
The Welshman has signed a four-year deal at Elland Road after deciding to leave the Cottagers, an established Premier League side.
Despite the fact that they are entering their second year back in the big time, the Whites managed to convince the proven Premier League striker to turn down offers from elsewhere to link up with Daniel Farke’s club.
Wilson will provide a major threat for the West Yorkshire outfit, after scoring ten goals last season, but that may not be the only quality he brings to the table.

The experienced striker scored ten goals from 5.83 xG in the Premier League in the 2025/26 campaign, showing that he is an incredibly effective player who does not need many high-quality chances to score regularly.
The underdog of the Welsh striker’s game, however, is the creativity he can provide from the right flank, getting onto his left foot to provide passes and crosses to his teammates.
Wilson created eight ‘big chances’, 4.78 xA, and seven assists for Fulham in 36 Premier League games last season, collecting two more assists than any player in the Leeds squad.

The 29-year-old midfielder is a key creator as well as a top goalscorer, and his stats compared to the players Farke has at his disposal suggest he could be the club’s most prolific player next term.
However, Leeds will need to have players who can take full advantage of the forward’s ability to open up opportunities in the Premier League in the 2026/27 campaign.

It may be why the club are now looking to bring in a potential player to Elland Road to make Wilson’s defense at the other end of the pitch next season.
The Daily Mail reports that Leeds United are in the market to add a new number nine to their squad before the end of the summer transfer window in order to give Dominic Calvert-Lewin competition for his place.
It is said that the Whites have discussed internally a possible deal for Feyenoord striker Aase Ueda, but have not yet made his services official.
The Japan international was previously paid £30m and the latest report suggests Leeds believe they can get a better price elsewhere.

His form for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie last season, scoring 25 goals, suggests he could still be worth a hefty £30m, especially when you consider that Ismael Saibari recently joined Bayern Munich for £47m.
Ueda has scored 26 goals in 38 games in all competitions for the Dutch club, 11 more than Calvert-Lewin’s tally in all competitions for Leeds, and could be a suitable striker to accompany Wilson at Elland Road next term.
The Japanese player, who scored two goals in four games at the World Cup, scored 25 goals from 18.93 xG in the Eredivisie last term, with a conversion rate of 25%.
During that time, Calvert-Lewin scored just 14 goals at 15.81 xG in the Premier League, with a turnover rate of 19%, suggesting that the Feyenoord ace will arrive in West Yorkshire as a better coach than in England.
The £30m star’s performances at the Dutch club suggest he may be able to capitalize on Wilson’s creative quality, as he can score more goals than Calvert-Lewin thanks to his excellent finishing.
That means Ueda could make the Wales international an unstoppable force on the right wing as defenders will have to worry about the creativity the lethal Japanese striker can provide, as well as his threat as a goalscorer.
