The development has opened up the Robertson saga, with Romano clarifying that the decision now rests entirely on the 32-year-old.

Robertson must consider an appeal to stay in the Premier League with a Spurs side looking for respectability, against the lure of a move to one of European football’s most storied clubs in Turin.

Robertson may not be the only Liverpool star heading to Juventus this summer, with reports also linking goalkeeper Alisson Becker with a possible move to the Italian giants.

The Brazilian stopper still has a year left on his contract at Anfield, meaning Juventus will need to negotiate a formal fee with Liverpool.

However, Alisson has reportedly expressed a strong desire to move to Turin, where he will reunite with his former Roma boss, Luciano Spalletti.
