Roberto De Zerbi gifted with injury as £75,000-a-week Tottenham star’s return timeline emerges

Tottenham are expected to be boosted by the early return from injury of midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, while James Maddison is also racing to be fit before the end of the season.
Tottenham’s injury list grows ahead of the homecoming
Roberto De Zerbi has sweated over a number of first-team players ahead of his first test in charge of Tottenham.
A trip to the Stadium of Light is coming soon for Mohammed Kudus, who suffered a hamstring injury in January.
“So we have this big three weeks after the game on Sunday. He will probably do other things with the team maybe 10 days (after the break),” said Igor Tudor before his departure.
“I don’t know, I’m not sure. We have to check, but he’s progressing very well. He still has a bit of football.”
Both Kudus and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario could return next week for the home game against Brighton, while Mathys Tel should be able to feature for Sunderland.

Spurs seem to wave goodbye.
Tudor also gave a positive update on James Maddison, with the England international sharing videos on social media of him working out with the ball and is expected to play some part in the run-in.
There is more good news for Bentancur, who needed surgery on a hamstring problem and missed the rest of Tudor’s reign.

Bentancur at least two weeks before the schedule
According to Football.London, Bentancur has ‘already returned to working on the pitch’ and took part in some training sessions.
The Uruguayan is ’15 days away’ from his prime, says his fitness coach, and hopes to play a few minutes before the end of April.
This is a huge boost for De Zerbi, as Alasdair Gold recently said the new manager would love the tough midfielder.
“I have a funny feeling that you will like Rodrigo Bentancur too.
“And I also know that he is not everyone’s cup of tea, but I think that in terms of tactical and football-based football, yes he can be a bit nervous about his passing sometimes, but actually, as someone who used to be in the center of the Juventus team, who won the Serie A title three times, I think he can fit in well.” – Click for the full story
Bentancur currently earns £75,000-a-week in North London, having signed a long-term deal with the club in October.
The 28-year-old played regularly in the Premier League this season before his injury.

De Zerbi has used a 4-2-3-1 formation at Marseille and Brighton, a system that could lend itself to partnering Bentancur with a more central midfielder in deeper roles.
