Jamie Carragher calls the Premier League legend a better passer than Gerrard & Scholes

Jamie Carragher has named Steven Gerrard as the best Premier League midfielder of all time, but has revealed that the Liverpool legend is not the best passer we have ever seen.
Carragher rates the best Premier League midfielders of all time
It’s always up for debate, right? Passes, goals, assists, Premier League honors and Champions League honors all come up for discussion when discussing the best midfielders in the history of England’s top flight – leading to a number of different answers.
However, for Carragher, the answer is clear. The former Liverpool player did not hesitate to name Gerrard as the best Premier League midfielder of all time, even if he never took his youth club to glory.

3. Kevin De Bruyne (Man City) |

4. Patrick Vieira (Arsenal & Man City) |

5. Frank Lampard (Chelsea & Man City) |

7. Paul Scholes (Man Utd) |

8. Yaya Toure (Man City) |

9. Rodri (Man City) |

10. Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal & Chelsea) |
It’s a list that will undoubtedly divide opinion. Some would argue that Kevin De Bruyne should be number one, let alone number two. After all, he is the only player to reach Thierry Henry’s mark of 20 assists in a single season.
Meanwhile, there is an argument to be made about Paul Scholes’ place under N’Golo Kante.

Where does Man City star Kevin De Bruyne rank?
The argument may have gone from there, but Carragher made up his mind, telling Monday Night Football after giving Gerrard the upper hand: “The thing I have always said about Stevie is that we have gone through this list of players and mentioned the strengths of certain players. The strength I always say about Stevie is his strength is that he had no weaknesses.”
It’s hard to argue with Carragher’s decision on Gerrard, but that doesn’t mean the former Liverpool captain was the best in everything for his replacement. In fact, Carragher said he is not the best passer the Premier League has ever seen.
Carragher calls Keane the best passer we’ve ever seen
That praise, instead, was reserved for Roy Keane. The Manchester United legend is, as far as Carragher is concerned, the best player the Premier League has ever seen – better than both Gerrard and Scholes.
“I don’t think there’s anyone in that list who was better than Roy Keane at getting his number 10. That’s playing between the lines. That’s the best ball in football for a midfielder. That’s what hurts opposition – putting it into Eric Cantona in those positions, Dwight Yorke, Teddy Sherringham.
“For me, when I look at that list, there are a lot of different players. I don’t think anyone ran the game better than Roy Keane and everything went through him in midfield.”
High praise from Carragher and hard to argue with.
While Keane established himself as a tough Premier League official, the former defender suggested his technical skills were the highest English football had ever seen – and he was not praised for his image as a keeper and leader.
