How could Leeds pull off a bigger coup than Wilson by signing the £25m star

Leeds United and Daniel Farke deserve a lot of credit for being able to strike a deal to bring Harry Wilson to Elland Road on a free transfer this summer.

The Welshman has agreed a five-year deal to move to West Yorkshire after his Fulham contract expired earlier this month.

Fellow Premier League clubs Everton and Aston Villa were both in talks with the former Liverpool winner before the Whites agreed a deal.

The 29-year-old striker should make an immediate impact on the Leeds pitch as a player with plenty of experience in the top flight, having played for Liverpool, Bournemouth and Fulham.

It was also a draw to get this striker because he came from last season where he scored ten goals and provided seven assists on the right side in the league.

According to MOT Leeds News, Leeds United are interested in signing Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki in the summer transfer window.

The report says that the Whites are the frontrunners in the race to get this Japanese player who is being targeted by Manchester United and Aston Villa this summer.

It adds that the player is willing to make the move and would be more than happy to sign for Farke’s side, suggesting that personal goals will not be too much of an issue.

MOT Leeds News revealed, however, that it would cost more than £25m to strike a deal with Parma for his services, and it remains to be seen whether the 49ers are prepared to pay that sum for the shot stopper.

How could Zion Suzuki be a bigger coup for Leeds than Harry Wilson

The Whites could land a bigger coup than their deal to bring Wilson on a free from Fulham if they can bring in Suzuki from Parma in the coming weeks.

As mentioned above, it remains to be seen whether the Welshman’s form will carry over into next season and he will turn 30 in March next year, meaning he may not be included in the squad for much longer.

Suzuki, on the other hand, only turns 24 next month and will arrive at Elland Road this summer as a player with a lot of work ahead of him and time to develop and improve.

In Serie A last season, the 23-year-old caught the eye with his play between the sticks as he is a stopper and all-round goalkeeper when it comes to controlling his area.

The fact that he ranks in the top 12% of goalkeepers in the league with claims above 90 is particularly eye-catching, as Karl Darlow averaged 0.77 per 90 and ranked in the bottom 48% of goalkeepers in the Premier League.

Therefore, Suzuki can be more of a presence in goal for Leeds than their number one, releasing defensive pressure by coming off his line to look for crosses.

He will also emerge as a bigger team than Wilson because he will be coming off the back of an impressive World Cup campaign against Japan, saving 71% of the shots he faced in four games before losing to Brazil in the round of 32.

Suzuki has shown his quality at world level in front of millions of fans and scouts watching, which is why signing him after playing in Japan would be a huge challenge for Leeds.
