Four players Tottenham plan to sell to raise £150m this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are rebuilding Roberto De Zerbi’s squad while keeping the club financially viable as we approach the end of the PSR season.
Spurs recorded a pre-tax loss of £128 million in 2024-25 – almost five times the previous year – and the club owes £133 million in historic transfer fees.
Their current cash flow will not sustain their spending levels, leading ENIC to inject £100 million into the club as recently as October 2025 – widely understood to be a move to keep debts paid.
On the contrary and with the Lewis family vowing to support De Zerbi with the necessary signings this summer, this is the window where a sale is needed.
Time is of the essence. The PSR remains in effect until 2025-26, with the final review taking place in January 2027, before opening the new Squad Cost Ratio system.
Under the SCR, clubs will be limited to spending 85% of their revenue on club expenses from next season, which includes wages, transfer fees and agents’ fees. For a club carrying Spurs’ debt levels, that framework needs strict maintenance.
The sale of players generates a profit that suits PSR, and the club has been working with new manager De Zerbi to identify which players can leave to raise money while maintaining balance in the squad.

Lucas Bergvall |
Bergvall is reported to have wanted to leave the club this summer, but will not be allowed to continue on the cheap. The Swedish youngster was the subject of Barcelona’s interest before opting to move to North London back in 2024, such is his high ceiling, allowing the Lilywhites to seek a healthy return on the £8.5m they paid for him now that he has established himself at Premier League and international level. |
|
Cristian Romero |
Romero’s future has been in doubt for a long time, and links to both sides of Madrid – Atletico and Real – since last summer. Spurs have moved quickly to bring in Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke this summer, and are now ready to give up their captain as a result. |
|
Richarlison |
Richarlison has managed to surpass double-digit league goals twice in four seasons at Tottenham, but injuries have prevented him from being the focal point he was once brought to be. The Brazilian has missed 74 games for club and country through injury since leaving Everton. |
|
Guglielmo Vicario |
Vicario’s time at Spurs has come to an end since he was released for Antonin Kinsky under Igor Tudor, even if the Czech’s first success ended in disaster. The Italian has struggled with the intensity of English football at a time when atrocious spells have made goalkeepers’ lives more difficult than ever, and has been heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan. |

Lucas Bergvall
Tottenham price: £50m
Bergvall has officially asked to leave Tottenham this summer, making the club aware of his desire to restart and regular first-team football.
The 20-year-old played 112 minutes under De Zerbi and started just once, and with other midfielders expected – Spurs are chasing both Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes – his path has been limited.
Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are among his strongest suitors, while Inter Milan, AC Milan and Napoli are also monitoring the situation.
Football FanCast sources have also learned of a bid from Nottingham Forest, but it is thought to be well below the £50m price tag and was quickly rejected.

Cristian Romero
Tottenham price: £50m
Romero’s departure from Tottenham was widely welcomed at the club and was effectively decided in early January, making his exit one of the summer’s most talked about results.
A release clause in his contract allows Real Madrid, Barcelona or Atletico Madrid to initiate a move for around £50m, with the latter looking likely to be his destination, with Diego Simeone long-time admirer.
Manchester United have also been linked with a move, but Spurs would prefer to sell to a club outside the Premier League.
3
Richarlison
Tottenham price: £30m
With a contract that runs until June 2027, Spurs are keen to sign Richarlison instead of letting him down, and there is no shortage of interest.
A return to Everton has persisted, MLS clubs are circling, and Saudi Arabia remains an option – although his choice sounds like staying in Europe.
Flamengo was also thanked for his interest if he wants to return to Brazil. A fee in the region of £25-40m is being negotiated depending on the buyer.
4
Guglielmo Vicario
Tottenham price: £20m
Spurs have decided to let Vicario leave since January, and Inter Milan have quickly agreed personal terms with the goalkeeper, although they have cooled their pursuit, considering whether they can develop internal option Josep Martinez instead of spending £20m on Vicario.
Juventus have since emerged as another suitor, with the Turin club considering him as an option to back up their first target Alisson.
In any case, Vicario’s time at Spurs appears to be over, with Geronimo Rulli being tipped to replace him.
