Fabrizio Romano has hit back at the latest Chelsea transfer rumors for Alejandro Garnacho, suggesting the Blues plan to keep the player.
The Argentinian has had a very disappointing first season at Stamford Bridge, and this has led to talk that he could leave.
Garnacho’s future was in doubt in the Solezwe report, but Romano seems to have pointed to Liam Rosenior’s comments about the player.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano quoted Rosenior as saying that Garnacho is still in Chelsea’s plans, although he also added that CFC could be looking for new players in the summer.

Chelsea look set to get stronger in attack this summer, according to Romano, and this is not surprising given how badly their previous crop have fared.

Chelsea may be willing to give Garnacho more time as he is still young, but he has also struggled at Manchester United, so the signing looks worse and worse with each passing game.

“In the last two days we have had many reports about Garnacho,” said Romano.
“One specific report that talks about Garnacho leaving Chelsea in the summer transfer window. Well, now we have a response from Chelsea and it comes directly from manager Liam Rosenior, who comes out and says ‘I don’t know where this story comes from’.
“At the moment the message from the Chelsea manager is very clear – that Chelsea still want to believe in Garnacho and still want to trust Garnacho.”
Romano added that Chelsea’s qualification for the Champions League will be crucial when it comes to deciding their target, with the Blues now looking unlikely to make it.
He added: “What I understand guys is that in general, Chelsea’s approach to the market would include the possibility of adding a player to the team for the 26-27 season so that there is one more player in that position in the defender’s position.
“Then we have to understand a few things before we say Chelsea’s names, plans, outgoings, incomings and obviously Champions League football. Champions League football is important for Chelsea of course – for Chelsea’s planning, for Chelsea’s ideas, for Chelsea’s ideas.”
