It’s starting to feel like England’s year as they played very well in the big tournament when they beat Mexico 3-2 last night.
The Three Lions have had a few moments of stuttering at this year’s World Cup, drawing with Ghana in the group stage and coming back late after a shocker against DR Congo in the last 32.
However, they responded well in difficult situations against the hosts of Mexico, who were in excellent form in this match, winning four times and not conceding any goals until they played against England.

There have been good times for England in recent years, with Gareth Southgate really lifting the team’s belief to the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup and two consecutive final appearances at the European Championships.
But could things be getting much better under Thomas Tuchel?
England received a lot of praise after defeating Mexico
Former England striker, Alan Shearer, is one of the big players who praised the team after the intense competition last night.
“Those players represented their country admirably tonight. Every single player had the right attitude. Everything that was against them, everything that was thrown at them, the power, the height, they got through it all and they deserved it,” said Shearer, as quoted by BBC Sport.
“This was a great game from start to finish. When they were under the cosh the manager made the right change. The subs came and did their job. Amazing night.”
The BBC’s Sami Mokbel added: “Great night in England. I’ve played six major tournaments with England and that’s the biggest night I’ve ever seen.”

England responded with an unforgettable win
Sounds like Harry Kane and co. they enjoyed themselves too.
That would not be an easy game to play, so coming out with a result will no doubt be very satisfying for everyone involved.
Speaking afterwards, Kane admitted it was one of the best nights of his career so far.
“What a crazy, crazy game,” the Bayern Munich striker told BBC 5 Live.
“This will give us more faith and motivation. It’s a special night in England.
“We scored three goals playing against a team that has never entered the competition, we played for 40-50 minutes with 10 men, so whatever you can say about us as a team, we have complete desire, determination and pride in the shirt.
“One of my favorite nights of my career.”
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has added that it was his best day with the England national team.
