Celtic are presenting a move to bring back £1m Schmeichel as a “confirmed” transfer plan

Celtic have received a major boost in their search for a replacement for Kasper Schmeichel after their £1m target confirmed “plans” for a transfer this summer.
Celtic are looking for a new goalkeeper in the transfer window
Even worse, Celtic finished the season as Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup winners. Martin O’Neill has pulled the Bhoys from the jaws of defeat back to his throne and has the potential to take on a permanent job as a result.
Finding their next manager will be among the priorities at Celtic Park, but so will finding a new goalkeeper after Schmeichel’s retirement.
The shooter confirmed the news following a serious injury earlier this year, saying: “I’ve been in touch with different surgeons and specialists about my shoulder, and they say I don’t expect to return to senior football. I’ve thought a lot, but I think it’s the right time. [to retire].”

Although the Dane wasn’t at his best towards the end of his Celtic career, they will still remember his leadership and quality when he was at his best. Changing that won’t be easy.
The Parkhead chiefs will attempt to do just that this summer, however. According to the Daily Record, Celtic have been linked with the signing of Jari De Busser from Go Ahead Eagles in the coming months.
The stopper is worth just £1.25m in the Netherlands and has informed his club that he plans to move on, telling reporters: “The plan is to take the next step.
“I have said it before, and it was done in consultation with the club. They are aware of the situation, and we discussed it before this season. However, the club has to come forward.”
Celtic should implement De Busser’s “plan”.
According to what De Busser told reporters, he is still waiting to find a way before the summer. And with reports suggesting Celtic have made early contact, they could be the club to make the first move.
The 26-year-old is certainly one to watch after becoming the uncapped No.1 for the Go Ahead Eagles and helping them avoid relegation from the Eredivisie.

The numbers don’t make good reading for Viljami Sinisalo and the arrival of De Busser will end his time as Celtic’s number 1.
What is most impressive about the Go Ahead Eagles is his save percentage. Despite playing for one of the struggling clubs in the Netherlands, the 26-year-old has saved 73.8 percent. Sinisalo, on the other hand, kept 60.5% and made less than two out of 90.
With Schmeichel now retired, the Boys should do everything possible to sign De Busser this summer.
