Brewers Place Coleman Crow On 15-Day IL Due To Flexor Strain

The Brewers put up a right hand Coleman Crow on the 15-day injured list Friday (dating back to June 10) due to a right forearm strain. The right hand Craig Yoho he was called up from Triple-A Nashville in a related move.

The severity of the injury is not yet known, and the milder variety of such injuries would see Crow back on the job in less than a month. Beyond this excellent scenario, it’s not out of the question that Crow’s 2026 season could be in jeopardy, especially given his past history of arm problems. Tommy John surgery cost Crow most of the 2023-24 season, and he was limited to 50 minor league innings in 2025 due to hip problems and other flexibility.

Crow appeared to put his injury woes behind him when the righty made his MLB debut earlier this season. Crow was called up to the majors three times in his first year – twice to start in place, and his last three appearances included two starts and two relief outings. This exit from the barn last Tuesday marked Crow’s last game before he appeared to struggle.

Crow has a 5.30 ERA and a paltry 11.8% strikeout rate to show for it in his 18 2/3 innings in the big leagues. On the other hand, his walk rate is a solid 7.1%, and his ERA was boosted somewhat by a tough outing (six ER over 2 1/3 innings) against the Giants on June 4. Although Crow’s time in the majors is a small sample size, the lack of punchouts is unusual considering the righty’s career is well-respected above 5 minor 1%. frames in the Angels and Brewers farm system.

Milwaukee has improved to a 42-25 record despite multiple injuries, and Crow’s absence removes another dynamic from the mix. Brandon Woodruff (shoulder inflammation) has started a league rehab assignment and is expected to return in June, season Logan Henderson (back strain) is a few weeks away. Quinn Priester‘s status is still up in the air, as the right-hander had his conditioning assignment put on hold as Priester continues to struggle in his recovery from thoracic outlet syndrome.

Jacob Misiorowski‘s brilliance helped carry the shorthanded Brewers rotation, as well Kyle Harrison he also looked good in his first season in Milwaukee. Brandon Sproat he pitched at least 60 innings but with a 5.70 ERA, too Robert Gasser has a 6.38 ERA over 18 1/3 frames as a starter this season. Shane Drohan is slated to start his fourth season today, and the rookie southpaw has looked excellent in posting a 3.11 ERA, 24% strikeout rate, and 7.1% walk rate in his first 37 2/3 innings in the big leagues (with 10 bullpen appearances and three starts).

The situation should improve once Woodruff and Henderson are back, and Crow’s flexor strain may not be too severe. The Brewers have the ability to acquire and develop innings help, but if depth is still an issue in a month, Milwaukee may consider adding a veteran innings eater at the trade deadline.
