Arteta drives Arsenal’s £100m move for Morgan Rogers

Arsenal are set to strengthen their attack this summer following a breakout season for starlet Bukayo Saka.
Saka is playing in England because of pain
Saka will continue to “gamble” on his fitness to take part in England’s World Cup campaign.
The Arsenal winger has been nursing an Achilles injury that ended his domestic campaign, playing through a pain barrier, and Thomas Tuchel said during the pre-tournament camp in Florida that he did not think he could play 90 minutes.
Saka, who picked up an injury in March and missed a month, including the international window, said he was “ready to go” for the Group L opener against Croatia in Dallas on Wednesday, but revealed he had put himself at risk of being involved in Arsenal’s Premier League and Champions League run.
“As players it’s a huge gamble, especially if you don’t feel the sharpest,” he said.
“You can choose not to play or put yourself out there knowing that people will judge you in the same way.
“At the end of the day, people don’t care how you feel, they expect you to deliver, they expect you to play well.
“I’m glad I took the gamble, it paid off, I can say, I’ll continue to do that.
“But I feel a lot better than I did in March, and I’m ready to go.
Mikel Arteta sheds light on Arsenal’s deal for the former Barcelona player as his exit looms
The Spaniard is leading their pursuit.
“I don’t want to say anything against the manager, but between Mikel and Arsenal’s medical team and England’s medical team, since March, they have treated me amazingly and helped me get back on the pitch and do what I can for the team.
“I feel better than I have in the last few months. I’m ready to go.”
Arsenal are pursuing a number of forward options this summer, with doubts surrounding the future of Gabriel Martinelli, who lost his place to Leandro Trossard last season.
Club Brugge star Christos Tzolis is reportedly being targeted, but Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arteta has personally sought the marquee signing alongside the Greece international.

Arsenal move for Morgan Rogers “on” – Romano
According to Fabrizio Romano, speaking in his latest YouTube video, ‘the deal is still in place’ for Arsenal and Morgan Rogers.
Aston Villa will stand firm and demand a huge price tag for the England international, thought to be in the region of £100m, but Arteta is involved and the Gunners will move on.
Romano reports that the Spaniard has told Arsenal’s management that Rogers is ‘perfect’ and has asked them to sign him this summer.
“For Morgan Rogers, Arsenal are in it, Arsenal are talking to people close to the player, Arsenal have been talking about this for a long time.
“Aston Villa extended his contract a few months ago, he is in a very good situation. Champions League football, Super Cup, so they are not in a rush to sell.
“So financially it has to be looked at, but definitely the deal is open.”
Arsenal are also eyeing Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, but with Tottenham pushing ahead with a deal for the Italian and the Gunners set to make a big splash for Rogers, it looks unlikely they will make a £100m move for two midfielders in one summer.
