Arsenal in talks to sign Ligue 1 star “like Cristiano Ronaldo”

Arsenal have now been linked with the signing of Real Madrid striker Endrick, and Florentino Perez’s status in agreeing to leave has been revealed.

The Gunners are looking for a new striker after extending their lead over Man City

The Gunners moved six points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League with a 3-0 win at Fulham on Saturday, although Pep Guardiola’s side still have two games in hand.

As such, goal difference can be very important at the end of the season, which is why it was important for Mikel Arteta’s side to win for the Cottagers, with Viktor Gyokeres holding a brace either side of Bukayo Saka’s goal.

Gyokeres has scored 21 goals in 50 games in all competitions, which is an impressive return, given that the Swede will start the match at the Emirates Stadium.

Former Manchester United player, Wayne Rooney, later praised Gyokeres for the way he played in the campaign, saying: “His minutes per goal, it’s up there. You see the players below him, Sesko, Ekitike, Welbeck, who’s had a good season. So his average goal ratio is very good, and I think he’s been an important signing for Arsenal.”

However, Arsenal are still keen to bring in a new striker in the summer, according to a report from TEAMtalk, which claims that there is now an investigation into the availability of Real Madrid’s Endrick.

The Gunners did not get the response they were expecting, as the La Liga club is not willing to leave, as club president Florentino Perez is considered a big fan.

The 19-year-old is expected to try to force his way into Madrid’s plans next season, after returning from a loan spell with Lyon, where he has racked up four goals and six assists in 13 Ligue 1 appearances.

Former Palmeiras sporting director Joao Paolo Sampaio has also spoken highly of the youngster.

“If the injury respects him, I don’t see that it will be okay. At his best. He has quality, a strong personality and a heroic mentality. In that, he is like Cristiano. [Ronaldo].

“He trains hard, he is kind and humble. We love him so much because he makes himself lovable. He tries to please everyone around him. He has everything to become a world star.”

As a result, Arsenal may have to move on to other targets in attacking areas, with Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen among the options, and Andrea Berta already holding personal talks over a deal in Nigeria.

The Gunners are also in talks to sign Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez, who scored one goal in their side’s 1-1 Champions League semi-final draw earlier this week.
