Speaking on talkSPORT, Jacobs explained that Bournemouth remain confident of keeping Scott and will ask for around £80m this summer, although the asking price could drop if they can agree a new deal with a release clause.
See below for details as Jacobs claims Arsenal and Chelsea are eyeing a move, while Tottenham could also be involved, depending on what happens with Sandro Tonali…
Bournemouth program by Alex Scott
“Alex Scott has just returned from training with England and will now begin formal talks with Bournemouth over a new contract,” said Jacobs.
“At the end of the season, Bournemouth had high hopes that Scott would stay. And on the other hand, that situation hasn’t changed. And some of the confidence that Scott might stay depends on Thiago Pinto being willing to include at least one release clause in Alex Scott’s contract to keep him for that extra season.
It could be the same with Antoine Semenyo, with a release clause offered in January and reduced by around 5 million in the summer. And in that case, I’m told it will be 75 or down to 70. But Bournemouth may be more inclined to say to Scott, there is no mid-season release clause, stay until the end of the summer and you can leave at a market price.

“As of now, we have heard some suggestions that Bournemouth will sell for 60 million. My understanding is that the price is 80 million and no decision about a possible sale or engagement will be made before Bournemouth sits down with Alex Scott, and that is why at that time Arsenal called Bournemouth and said to wait and that the player is not for sale.
Does Alex Scott represent good value in this market?
This is not an easy market after the big money we saw Elliot Anderson go for, with the Telegraph also reporting that Aston Villa could ask for around £130m for Morgan Rogers.
It’s probably hard to imagine Arsenal being able to pay that kind of money, which would mean Scott at £80m, or a little less if he’s waiting, would be the best value option out there.
This also seems like a lot for an inexperienced player, but Scott has impressed in the Premier League and looks like he has all the attributes to join a top club, while he is also young enough to improve even more over the next few years.
That will also appeal to Chelsea, who have invested heavily in top young talent in the future, with Scott someone who can strengthen them quickly and provide them with a talent whose value should continue to rise.
