Full list of confirmed teams and fixtures of the FIFA football tournament after the qualifiers
The 48 teams that will take part in the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico have been confirmed.
DR Congo and Iraq were the last teams to reach the tournament, advancing shortly after defeating Turkey, Czechia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sweden in the European qualifiers.
Curacao, Cape Verde, Uzbekistan and Jordan are playing for the first time in the World Cup. Argentina is the defending champion.

Analysis: Who are the favorites to win the World Cup?
Spain are the shortest-priced team, who won EURO 2024 in style and can field a squad that includes 2024 Ballon d’Or winner Rodri and 2025 runner-up Lamine Yamal.
France, who lost to Argentina on penalties in the 2022 World Cup final, include Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele and La Liga top scorer Kylian Mbappe among their squad.
England have been perfect in qualifying, reaching the finals of EURO 2020 and 2024 and are led by the Bundesliga’s best player, Harry Kane.
These players have also won the last two games of the Copa America and are likely to be captained by eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi in his final game at the age of 38.
Messi’s arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo will lead Portugal’s attack at the age of 41, while four-time champions Germany are looking to make their first appearance in the knockout stages since winning in 2014.
