Aston Villa and Tottenham are set to battle it out in the race to sign Lucas Chevalier

Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are both chasing the Paris Saint-Germain star, who could be heading for the French club’s exit door this summer.
Tottenham or Aston Villa could sign the PSG star
It’s been a busy summer for those in North London. They welcomed Andy Robertson and look set to welcome Marcos Senesi next, before bringing Joao Palhinha back to the club permanently.
Tottenham have a “good chance” of bringing the star back to Spurs with talks ongoing
Spurs are one of the two strikers.
Robertson at the door first is certainly a sign of intent from the Lilywhites and he spoke to supporters for the first time earlier this week, saying: “I’m in America right now preparing for the World Cup, but I wanted to send you a quick message and say I can’t wait to play for you.”
“I can’t wait to meet you guys, I can’t wait to play on the field for the first time in front of you and I’m looking forward to next season.”
As for Aston Villa, although they still have SCR issues to worry about, Champions League qualification has put them in a good position to welcome some long-awaited reinforcements in the coming months.
It remains to be seen who those signings will be, but reports have suggested that they could compete with Spurs for a stopper who is still full of energy.
According to Fussballdaten, Tottenham and Aston Villa are in the race to sign Lucas Chevalier this summer. The goalkeeper endured a difficult first season at PSG, losing his starting spot to Matvey Safonov, and could now be looking at the exit door in just 12 months.
With Guglielmo Vicario likely to leave and Emiliano Martinez now 33 years old, Spurs and Villa are both looking to make the most of Chevalier’s predicament ahead of next season.
Tottenham should push to sign Chevalier
The goalkeeper position has had a lot of attention at Tottenham this season and, mostly, it has been for all the wrong reasons. Vicario often struggled to find his best form, leaving Igor Tudor to introduce Antonin Kinsky before the second-choice endured a dreadful display against Atletico Madrid.
Since then, the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi calmed the storm and Kinsky found redemption. However, there are still concerns about his ability to be a long-term No.1 as rumors continue about Vicario’s future.
That makes the Chevalier one to watch. He is known as Jacek Kulig who is called “good”, even this Frenchman will admit that he struggled to adapt to life at PSG, but he is not the first player who struggled in his first season at the club.
If he is available at the right price, Tottenham should push to sign the goalkeeper. His power has not yet disappeared. This is a potential No.1 player for the Lilywhites right away.
