Liverpool are in talks to sign the £145m star with a formal bid imminent
Liverpool are now set for talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola in an “opening bid” for the club.
It has been a quiet summer transfer window for the Reds so far, with Victor Munoz the only attacking signing, but they remain keen to sign a new winger, with Barcola, named for £145m by PSG, emerging as a target.
The Frenchman was the European champions’ top scorer in Ligue 1 last season, scoring 11 goals and creating 11 chances, which was second in the team.
After the departure of Mohamed Salah, the Merseysiders could do with bringing in a clinical striker, but although the 23-year-old was a constant scorer for PSG, he missed 15 big chances in the league, more than any of Luis Enrique’s players.
With that in mind, the former Lyon man may not be the finished article yet, but he is certainly showing encouraging signs at the Parc des Princes, having been hailed as “elite” by Como scout Ben Mattinson.
Liverpool are preparing for talks to sign Bradley Barcola
According to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool’s owners FSG are now planning to do “everything they can” to secure Barcola’s signature before the end of the summer transfer window. Negotiations continue on Monday and the Reds are expected to make their first official offer soon.
The PSG star is now “open” to leaving the French club this summer, suggesting a move to Anfield could go ahead, if Andoni Iraola’s side can’t agree a transfer fee.

Liverpool are also looking at an alternative for Barcola and Diomande
As their search for a new striker continues, Liverpool have also looked at Bayern Munich star Michael Olise, who may be brought in to replace Barcola and Diomande, and the latter is reported to be joining Real Madrid.
Olise already has experience in England, having picked up 14 goals and 22 assists in 82 Premier League appearances for Crystal Palace, and has also been a key player for Bayern Munich, netting 36 goals in the Bundesliga last season.
Having also bagged seven assists in eight World Cup games, the Frenchman would be a great addition to Iraola’s attack, but it would be surprising if Bayern were willing to invest, considering he is one of their most valuable players.
