Chelsea to decide Pedro Neto’s future as Maresca wants to join Man City

After briefly signing Elliot Anderson for a British record transfer fee, Manchester City are back in the market and could offer Enzo Maresca a reunion.
The Citizens were apparently looking for Malo Gusto, but now they are looking at Pedro Neto. The Chelsea winger is likely to move on this summer, especially considering that Xabi Alonso is not working with natural wings.
If so, those at the Etihad could step in and get the star rival and their second entry in Maresca’s first window in charge.

If it is a one-man exit policy for Man City, Neto could come to replace Savinho. The Brazilian is very much back on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar and after 821 minutes in the Premier League last season, he needs a move.
If you look at the numbers, Neto is interesting. While Savinho has enjoyed many of his touches in the area, the Chelsea man is more of a winger at the back. He sticks to the line, drives his man and looks to cross. Another reason is that he was able to help more people than Savinho last season.
If Maresca wants his wingers to do that, it would be wise to meet with the Portuguese player. As for Savinho, a tactic like that could mean the end of his Man City career.
Man City have given the green light to sign Pedro Neto
As reported by Caught Offside, Man City have now been given the green light to sign Neto, with Chelsea’s board unanimously ruling that he is no longer considered ‘untouchable’.
Maresca is expected to reunite with the winger, but the deal won’t come cheap. Reports elsewhere claim that Chelsea are using Yan Diomande’s £100m+ valuation to match Neto’s asking price, who may come at a similar price as a result.
“Pedro Neto is completely untouchable at Chelsea. There have been informal discussions, internally, I must say, and they are all on board with letting him go if City or someone else comes with the right offer.” – Caught offside
With Diomande being linked over Neto, it is clear that Man City are looking to sign the winger before the end of the summer.
Man City are holding talks to sign Manu Kone
Before they sign a defender, Man City are likely to prioritize a midfielder amid concerns that Rodri could still move to Real Madrid. Replacing the Spanish will be an impossible task, but that won’t stop the locals from trying and now they have AS Roma’s Manu Kone in their sights.
The Manchester club are already in talks to sign the Frenchman and are looking for a move to the Premier League. Whether that is enough to win the race for his signature ahead of Manchester United remains to be seen.
