Liverpool are preparing a huge offer as Diomande’s green lights go

Liverpool have been heavily invested in their pursuit of a top target this summer and are now lining up a big-money offer to secure his signature.

The Reds are in dire straits after last season’s disappointing campaign, having already moved to sack Arne Slot in favor of Andoni Iraola and secure the Spaniard’s first arrival in Victor Munoz.

The Spaniard looks destined for Newcastle United, before Liverpool return to attack their transfer rivals in the usual way to welcome the winger to Anfield.

The Magpies are back at square one, but the Merseysiders are just getting started. They are still looking to spend big on another striker in the coming months.

The likes of Bradley Barcola and Matias Fernandez-Pardo have entered Liverpool’s radar in their hunt for another exciting winner, but it’s no secret that their top target remains Yan Diomande.

Although Anfield officials have already seen an offer worth €100m (£87m) rejected for the RB Leipzig star, they are set to go again and are poised to break the bank just 12 months after spending around £450m on last summer’s signings.

Romano shares an important update on Liverpool and Diomande

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are now preparing a huge offer to sign Diomande, which should surpass the €100m (£87m) mark and come close to Leipzig’s €120m (£104m) asking price.

As negotiations continue, Diomande has also made an important decision about his future. According to Romano, the winger is now looking to leave Leipzig this summer, giving the green light from the German club and giving those at Anfield a big boost.

Liverpool weren’t afraid to spend big last summer and could make a statement again. As the World Cup continues, that asking price for Diomande is starting to make more sense, too.

The 19-year-old played a key role in Ivory Coast’s goal against Germany in the group stage qualifiers, and has made eight appearances in two matches in the tournament. To put into context how amazing that is, the last teenager to score the most goals in the first World Cup matches was Lionel Messi.
