Tottenham are considering a move for Real Betis MLS star Kevin Denkey

Tottenham have been strongly linked with a move for former Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood this summer, but sources understand he is not a target and is focusing on other attacking options.
Greenwood worked with Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi in Marseille and a report from L’Equipe said that the Londoners are ready to take the player who has played in England.
De Zerbi’s arrival in north London in March was controversial after his previous comments and association with Greenwood, who faced charges of attempted rape, control and coercion and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in 2022 before they were dropped.
The Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges in February 2023 due to “a combination of withdrawals of key witnesses and new material that has come to light” which means there is “no realistic prospect of a conviction”.
Greenwood, who denied the charges, resumed his career but left United to join Marseille in 2024 under De Zerbi.
On his arrival at Tottenham, De Zerbi apologized for any offense he had previously said Greenwood was a “good” man who had paid a “heavy price” after three supporters’ groups opposed the appointment.
De Zerbi managed to escape a poor start and lead Spurs to Premier League safety after winning three of his seven games in charge.
A dramatic last-day victory over Everton secured survival and earned De Zerbi plenty of credit in the bank ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

Liverpool and Tottenham are set to battle it out for the future of the in-demand defender.
Tottenham have already acted quickly since shaving back free agents Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi and signing centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton for £52 million, but Greenwood will not follow the trio in N17.
However, that does not mean that the Lilywhites are not making efforts to improve their attacking quality, as a new midfielder is expected to be signed this summer.
Spurs are eyeing a move for the MLS star
According to reports in Spain, via Sport Witness, La Liga outfit Real Betis are now facing pressure from Tottenham in the race for FC Cincinnati striker Kévin Denkey.
Betis have been working on a deal for the 25-year-old and they see him as their genius, while Cincinnati will want just €15m (£13m) for his signing this summer.
Denkey has had an impressive record in recent years, scoring 66 goals in 152 appearances for Cercle Brugge before joining the American team, where he scored 31 goals in 51 appearances.
Betis are looking for a ‘class striker’, who they believe could be the Togo international, but with Spurs eyeing him and unable to pay the £13m fee the La Liga club are now sweating.
Tottenham could see a cheap striker as the right solution while they figure out what to do with Richarlison and Dominic Solanke, and it would allow them to splash more on Newcastle star Sandro Tonali to improve their midfield.
Tonali’s agents shared an update on his future this week.
