PSG are making a direct call to sign West Ham starlet Crysencio Summerville

Daniel Kretinsky will become West Ham’s biggest shareholder after agreeing a deal to buy another part of the club from the Gold family, but the Hammers are still expected to cash in on a number of key players this summer.

Kretinsky takes over amid turmoil at West Ham

Kretinsky will increase his stake to 43 percent, surpassing the current 38.8 percent of David Sullivan, who stepped down as co-chairman after being told that historic misconduct allegations were about to be published.

Kretinsky and Vanessa Gold, who will inherit their father David Gold’s interest in the club when he dies in 2023, said in a joint statement that the move would strengthen the Hammers’ bid for an immediate return to the Premier League.

“We expect to complete this transaction in the next few weeks. Once the deal is complete, Group EP and the Gold family have also agreed to vote together on key issues and support a strategy aimed at an immediate return to the Premier League.”

Sullivan denies the allegations made against him by BBC Panorama and The Times newspaper, and has indicated that he intends to sue.

Kretinsky and Gold said they were “deeply concerned” by the allegations, and reiterated the club’s previous claim that they were made aware of them last month when Sullivan himself notified the board.

They also said they had just been informed that Sullivan faced restrictions on his association with women’s and youth teams from 2023 as part of an ongoing safeguarding investigation by the Football Association.

Their focus now is to return the club to the Premier League for the first time in a successful summer transfer window.

“As shareholders and directors of West Ham, we are now very focused on securing the future of this football club.

“Our aim is to stabilize West Ham, keep as many of our key players as possible and, under the management of Nuno Espirito Santo, ensure a quick return to the Premier League.

“We are also committed to discussing with our fans and all our business partners to build a strong future for our Club. We have already taken strong steps towards this goal.”

PSG are closing in on West Ham

The Hammers’ new management is expected to sell a number of top assets this summer in a bid to rebuild quickly but steadily, with Manchester United at the heart of the talks.

The Red Devils have made Mateus Fernandes one of the most wanted to strengthen their midfield, and this week it was also revealed that they want to sign midfielder Crysencio Summerville.

They are not the only ones chasing the Netherlands player, who scored a goal against Japan in his country’s World Cup opener, with Fabrizio Romano revealing that Paris Saint-Germain called the East Londoners to inquire about a contract this summer.

Romano reports that the winger is certain to leave this summer amid interest from United and PSG.

The Champions League winners are preparing for the departure of Bradley Barcola, and have identified the 24-year-old as his replacement.

Meanwhile, INEOS could see him as a potential replacement for Marcus Rashford, who has a £40m release clause to leave this summer.
