Saudi Arabia and Uruguay named their squads for their 2026 World Cup opener in Miami on Monday.
The Green Falcons produced one of the biggest finals ever in their first match at the 2022 tournament, defeating Argentina who would go on to lift the trophy.

Uruguay lifted the trophy in 1930 and 1950 and reached the semi-finals twice, but their campaign ended at the group stage four years ago.
This match is the second in Group H, which started with Spain playing against Cape Verde in Atlanta this morning.

2026 World Cup: Uruguay to face Saudi Arabia
Ronald Araujo (calf) and Giorgian de Arrascaeta (calf) are out of the matchday squad and Jose Gimenez (ankle) should settle on the bench. Matias Vina (hamstring) and Sebastian Caceres (head) were cleared and started.
Top scorer Luis Suarez had indicated he would be open to coming out of international retirement but was not called up, making this the first time Uruguay has entered the World Cup without an Inter Miami player since 2002.
