If Tottenham Hotspur manage to sign Eli Junior Kroupi it would be the perfect moment for an incredible summer for the Lilywhites.
Ever since it was almost relegated, ENIC and Roberto De Zerbi have come together to make sure that doesn’t happen again. Spurs are too big of a club to find themselves foot of the table.
Instead, they have plans to top it with £185m spent on Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali at the start of July.
Since then things have been quiet for Spurs but they are still working hard to improve the squad. Kroup is a great target and can be a cracking addition.
Why Spurs want to get Solanke out for Kroupi
Charged with replacing Harry Kane, it wasn’t easy for Dominic Solanke to become a fan favorite at Spurs.
However, in 2024/25, he had a productive first season in London after moving from the same club as Kroupi, Bournemouth. During that time the England international scored 16 goals in 45 outings in all competitions.
2025/26, however, was a struggle for the striker. Who didn’t struggle in Spurs colors last term?
Solanke missed more than 20 games due to injury and scored only six goals. You can’t blame his injuries but even when he played, the centre-forward was not satisfied with his performance.
Still, at least we’ll always have that scorpion-kicking goal to remember him by.
At Kroupi, they could sign a red hot replacement. Priced at £90m and reportedly keen to play under De Zerbi, the Frenchman is one of the most exciting new signings.
Now 20, he joined the Cherries last year and has gone on an incredible run. No youngster has ever scored more goals (13) than they did in their first Premier League season. You are already up there alongside the champions.

Full of pace, clinical in front of goal, an excellent and versatile football coach, it’s easy to see why not only Spurs but also Arsenal are interested in signing him this summer.
However, there may be an even more exciting addition in store between now and the end of August.
How can Spurs improve their attack
Signing a new striker this summer makes sense, especially given the last year Solanke has endured. However, finding a winger is a big need for De Zerbi.
The Londoners are trying to get one or two across the line. Talks are ongoing over the signing of Savinho from Manchester City and they have also held early talks with Benfica over Norwegian midfielder Andreas Schjelderup.
With their canny football skills, trickery and clever ball handling, they would be good additions but not as good as a certain Yan Diomande, a player who joins Kroupi in being regarded as one of the best young talents in Europe right now.
The latter has had a fantastic season in the Premier League but Diomande has been causing a stir across Europe, subsequently attracting interest from PSG, Liverpool, Arsenal and now Spurs according to TEAMtalk. They realize that if his coveted move to Paris goes through, Tottenham are ready and waiting to make their move.
With a fee in excess of £101m, the Lilywhites could break their transfer record again this summer but it will certainly be worth it. After all, he’s arguably more fun than Kroupi.
Hailed as a “generational talent” by European football expert Bence Bocsák, the Ivory Coast international was one of the most electrifying young players in Europe’s top five leagues last season, not only scoring 13 goals and registering ten assists but he was impressively ranked in handling and playmaking.
In 2025/26, the 19-year-old ranked among the top 1% of players in Europe’s top five leagues for productive ball drives and effective dribbling per 90 minutes while also sitting in the top 3 percent for clearances and shots per 90. To put it simply, Diomande is one of the most dangerous players in the team to boot.
He also ranks in the top 3% for ‘end product’ and the top 4% for football progression. Give a youngster the ball and expect things to happen.
Care is considered continuous if the ball is moved towards a player’s goal at least 10 yards from its starting point or into the penalty area.
Kroupi is very exciting in his own right but doesn’t have the ball skills or carrying ability to match Diomande. Watching him in full is like watching Gareth Bale in his youth. The speed, dynamic nature and ferocity of his running is brilliant.
