Fabrizio Romano confirmed Andrey Santos’ deal with Manchester United

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal is fully sealed, giving his trademark “here we go” seal of approval.

Manchester United have agreed to meet Chelsea’s asking price, paying a total package worth £50 million.

The structure of the deal satisfied Chelsea’s financial demands while protecting their long-term interests, as the West London club also successfully negotiated a 10% sell-on clause in the contract.

United’s sporting department, greatly assisted by the familiarity of technical director Christopher Vivell, directed the 22-year-old player to inject dynamic energy and technical safety into their main structure.

Santos, who has spent time on loan showing his skills, was seen as a key addition after his pursuit of other midfield goals failed to materialise.

Medical signing and contract in the next 24 hours

Events are now unfolding quickly behind the scenes. As per Romano’s follow-up update, Santos is scheduled to fly to Manchester in the next 24 hours for a full health check-up and to complete personal goals.

A long-term contract valid until June 2031 is ready and expected to be signed soon after the completion of the medical examination.

How will Andrey Santos fit into Michael Carrick’s midfield

Under the strategic direction of Michael Carrick, Manchester United have evolved into a fluid, midfield-heavy system that requires creativity and great spatial awareness. Santos fits the bill perfectly.

Positioned as the perfect box-to-box man, the young Brazilian has incredible football skills, able to cut off opponents’ transitions while moving the ball forward well under intense pressure.

Playing alongside Kobbie Mainoo, and Ederson, who has also agreed a deal with the Red Devils, Santos will provide a defensive anchor and physical dominance, allowing United’s creative players more freedom to set the tempo in the final third.
