Arsenal close to signing “England’s Ousmane Dembele”

Heading to Budapest for the Champions League final just days away from lifting the Premier League title, Arsenal are in excellent shape heading into the summer transfer window.
Have the Gunners ever been in a better place? Avoid going to north Londoners in the coming months when you are at risk. Very few will be happy to turn down Mikel Arteta’s side.
That puts them in a good position to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa. Despite winning his trophy under Unai Emery, the Europa League, if Arsenal come calling he will surely be surprised at the prospect of a transfer.
Reports this week revealed that Rogers is one of the team’s most sought after players in the market, although it will cost an arm and a leg.
Arsenal are looking to sign a Morgan Rogers-esque talent
If Andrea Berta and Co can complete a deal for Rogers it would be a serious statement of intent as they continue to develop a squad ready to win back-to-back Premier League titles.
According to reports this week, Arsenal are already holding talks with the striker’s camp as they work out the terms of the deal in question. Some claims suggest that Berta has actually made it ‘his job’ to bring the England international to the capital this summer.
That said, the £100m price tag that Villa are targeting, will not be an easy deal to pull off.

That is why other options are being targeted including the cheap and unpopular Marcus Rashford at Manchester United.
While Rogers and Rashford will be for now, Arsenal are also looking to secure the team for the future and are trying to do so by signing Jeremie Monga.
A few weeks ago it was revealed by one of Arsenal’s top sources that they are in talks to lure the player away from the City Ground following relegation from League One.
Now, it looks like they are blocking his signature. According to TEAMtalk, the Londoners are now said to be ‘very confident’ in signing the player.
Despite competition from Manchester United and Manchester City, Arsenal are now in a ‘very strong’ position to land the 16-year-old and are pushing hard behind the scenes to get a deal done quickly.
Due to his age, Monga has yet to sign professional terms with Leicester, meaning Arsenal could sign him for a potentially bank-breaking fee.
Why Monga could be Arsenal’s answer to Morgan Rogers
There’s a reason Rogers is at the top of Arsenal’s shopping list heading into the transfer market.
In the first opportunity before Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid to England in the World Cup, this player who won the PFA Young Player of the Year has been playing in the Premier League for two and a half years.
Since being released by Manchester City, he came through Middlesbrough in the Championship to play under Unai Emery. He is one of the best talents to play for a club outside of your big six clubs.
In previous seasons, Rogers has scored 14 goals in all competitions. He registered 16 assists in 2024/25 and bagged another 12 this season.
He is incredibly talented, able to play in the middle or on the flanks. Monga is a broad player by trade but certainly has similar characteristics and features.
Described as “England’s Ousmane Dembele” by Como scout Ben Mattinson, the renowned commentator describes the Leicester City sensation as “pacy and a very good dribbler”. Mattinson also points out that Monga is a “deadly finisher and two-footed striker.”
Well, it’s clear to see where Rogers’ comparison comes from. The Villa sensation has incredible quickness to get away from his marker, like Monga, while he is brilliant in tight spaces, avoiding challenges with ease. That should not forget that he is a deadly player when you bring him close to the field.
When you look at what the Foxes youngster has achieved in the senior game, it feels hard not to rate him. Only two players have made their Premier League debut as youngsters; Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri. That’s the kind of company Monga is sitting in right now.

Dowman and Nwaneri have continued to play at the highest level of the game but for the Leicester prodigy, he has been a victim of their downfall over the years.
He scored just once and provided two assists in the Championship this season but that should not be overlooked. Don’t forget his age. The fact that he is even playing senior football is amazing.
Arsenal supporters will be hoping and praying they can get a deal over the line for Rogers this summer but if not, Monga could be an excellent capture, someone who could be their answer to the Aston Villa man in the long run.
He is not ready to start the Gunners games yet but his potential is great.
